My 4yo joined SDC mid-year for creative dance and loved her experience. He teacher was excellent and very skilled. SDC is very responsive to email inquiries. They care about each student individually and the year-end recital was inspiring.

Words fall short of how special and amazing this studio is. I grew up dancing at Shelley’s and now, I’m so grateful that my daughter is dancing there too. Throughout the years, this studio has truly created a legacy of not just amazing technically trained dancers, but also dancers who are kind, respectful, hardworking, and humble. The teachers are so committed and dedicated to each dancer… pushing/supporting them to reach their highest potential. SDC fosters an authentic and genuine sense of community, that isn’t limited by age or skill level. It truly is a family. I love that the studio is family-owned and operated….it is so evident that they do what they do because they truly care for their dancers and they have a true love and passion for dance. WE LOVE YOU SDC!

This has been the best studio we have ever been to. My daughter started here when she was just 5 years old. After Covid hit we returned 2 years later and it’s been nothing but the best thing in her life. They welcomed her with open arms, each teacher dancer and dance Mom greeted her and myself with such love and acceptance and truly helped her grow like I’ve never seen before. Shelley and each dance teacher has taken Ashyia under their wing and believed in her like I always have. They are patient, kind and enlightening and we could not recommend a better studio. Shelley and her team are simply thee best. We are so thankful to be here.

I cannot say enough about Shelley and her carefully vetted team of dance teachers & administration! It’s a truly unique dance experience ~ an authentic, family-owned and operated, environment full of love & support. 56 years strong! I have 5 very athletic children, 2 dance at Shelley’s. My 12 year old daughter is looking forward to her 3rd year at SDC and has a bright future there. She just loves music & is excited to dance, looks forward to her friends, and is treated with a kindness & respect although she’s not super competitive, that I appreciate. She dances for the social & emotional aspect of it, she gains friendships & a positive self-concept at SDC. My son is 17 years old started his journey at SDC when he was 12. He works hard training for Shelley, he looks up to the staff, and he challenges himself more & more. I believe it’s because he has seen his growth, he knows his potential & he puts all his faith & trust in Shelley’s world renowned expertise. There are overwhelming choices out there as parents for who gets to influence and help shape our children into young adults ~ again & again, I would choose Shelley’s Dance Company, without question. We saw that our son, who is now a senior dancing his last competitive year, had an innate passion for movement & musicality. Leaving hockey behind, he decided to dedicate himself full-time to competing in performing arts. I interviewed studios & heard from dance families in & around the Edmonton area and it was clear Shelley was the best choice. Surrounding him with mentors who understood the high pressure of competitive dance, but also acknowledged that he was still just a kid was a reality at SDC. I wanted the very best environment for him to grow up in considering the time commitment he was taking on. The evidence of world class training at SDC, right here in Edmonton, is that he has earned National & International competitive first place titles, and he was selected to attend The Juilliard School in New York City for a summer dance intensive, one of 24 coveted spots dancers from around the world auditioned for. While retaining the humble nature I love about him, my son has the confidence and the ability to take risks & make bold choices for his future and I believe these attributes were instilled in him growing up dancing at Shelley’s. The friends my children have made at SDC are lifelong. The dance-parent-friends I’ve made are lifelong. The positive impact SDC has had on me as a mother and also on the young man my son is today is immeasurable & I am forever grateful and proud to include Shelley’s Dance Company in our family.

My daughter has been dancing at Shelley’s for over 3 years and I am beyond impressed with them. The instructors are all highly trained professionals who are not only skilled dancers themselves, but also excellent teachers who are able to break down complex choreography in a way that is easy to understand. The atmosphere at the studio is always positive and encouraging, and we have felt welcomed and supported from day one. Dancers are given ample opportunities for growth. Every year they can sign up for extra dance conventions, privates lessons and if qualified at regional competitions they can attend national competitions with the studio. 💕💕💕
