Man, if the bar from Cheers were a craft beer bar in Fort Worth, this may be it. Super nice spot south side with great atmosphere, folks and beer. One side seemed a bit more casual with long tables and TVs and the other side seemed more intimate with arm chairs and end tables. Shawn was manning the taps and was very personable, chatting with regulars and new visitors (us). Sadly, we tried this place during our last day visiting Fort Worth, but will make it a regular stop for future visits.
South side cellar was a very chill and casual spot to hang out with friends. The beers were pretty good - I had the Manhattan atomic alliance which was a fruitier light beer and my partner had the nitro Guinness which unexpectedly was not very bitter. The bar has plenty of seating options, when we went it was emptier. There were also a lot of board games which was also nice I would definitely go back!
I have been sipping and discovering craft beer at Southside Cellar since they opened in 2020. It is one of the best beer bars in all of DFW and one of my personal favorites in the whole country. (I have been to many!) Expect a kind and knowledgeable staff. Expect a rotating list of local, regional, national, and even international beers. I recently bought a bottle of Cantillon, for example. And absolutely expect to make friends with everyone who imbibes there. If you're visiting FtW for the first time, I strongly recommend this small business. And if you're staying at the Omni or Sheraton dowtown, it is a 5-minute walk.
What a great place to visit! This lovely establishment is warm and cozy inside. Their cold beer selection has singles and packs but shares room with some other seltzers as well in a kind of small space. But THEN…Tyler the bartender told me about a cellar they had quite a few beers in for me to take a look at! Not cold but a cool room with a nice variety of beer displayed. They had both local and international beers to choose from. Tyler gave me some recommendations and really hooked me up!! I also had a beer while shopping and got to try a couple samples. Their draft list has a great range of flavors and everything I tried was delicious. I wasn’t in Texas for long but if I come back, I’d definitely visit here again! Also, there is a parking lot across the street and lots of little shops and eateries around to check out. What a great area with plenty to do!
This place is quite cozy and would be an excellent place to stop after a casual date or a night of just catching up with friends over a drink or too. Good selection on tap but mainly the ambiance of this place is top-notch. Really enjoyed the visit.
