Exceptional dinner with my daughter. I am typically a harsh critic and every measure of Soy Cowboy was outstanding. In the four plus years of living in DFW now, this is probably one of my top restaurants. We had the crispy rice tuna appetizer which was very good, contrast of textures and temperatures, everything you want in an appetizer. Next, the ribs were perfect, not overcooked and falling apart, but still with the perfect amount of chew, sauced perfectly, with garnishes of baby cilantro and rings of pickled red Fresno peppers. The kitchen team clearly cares about the finer details and are thoughtful in how they put together dishes. We shared yakisoba noodles, and they were magic, Smokey from the bonito flakes and the wok, but somehow chewy and fluffy at the same time. We also shared the dragon roll which was my 12-year-old's favorite dish of the night. We finished with a dessert of this crazy caramel brownie chai ice cream cone thing, just get it and you'll be delighted! Service from Nick was excellent. He knew the menu well and was a great blend of very professional and attentive but also fun and casual. The ambiance and build out of this restaurant is top notch too. It has a very warm and relaxing vibe, with what seems like a giant Harry Potter cauldron of fire in the main dining room, an interesting translucent curtain made out of heavy wire, a unique bathroom with what lava rocks in the sink.
Amazing vibe and a super fun atmosphere! The waiters are very friendly and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The food quality is excellent — everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for great energy, great service, and great food!
I was taken here by a client and had a party of 10. This was by far one of my favorite restaurants in the DFW area! The food was impeccable and the service was amazing! We had three or four servers for our party and allowed us to order as we went along in our journey. They created two omakases for us, one for sushi / sashimi / nigiri and one for our desserts at the end of the meal. They were so much fun and gave us a taste of almost everything on the menu. Cocktails and sake flights were all very good and we tried a lot of the menu. We tried all of the following and I will note the favorites of the group: Cucumber Salad (3/5) Hamachi Chili (5/5) Vegetable Tempura (4/5) Wagyu Beef Skewers (4/5) Rock Shrimp Tempura (5/5) Lobster Wontons (6/5) Whole Lobster Roasted (4/5) Australian Wagyu NT Strip (4/5) A5 Kobe Beef (7/5) Everyone loved it! Australian Wagyu Tamahawk (5/5) More beefy flavor but not as tender as the others. Orange Chicken (4/5) Soy Cowboy Omakase Platter (6/5) A taste of everything! Truffle Kanpachi Roll (5/5) Best Roll Dessert Omakase (5/5) The Banana bead pudding was amazing!
Soy Cowboy in Arlington offers a stylish atmosphere and creative presentation, but the dining experience didn’t quite match the premium pricing. I tried the wagyu gyoza, chicken yakisoba, and matcha cheesecake. The gyoza lacked flavor and the wagyu didn’t add much to elevate it. The yakisoba was good but fairly standard. The matcha cheesecake had a pleasant subtle sweetness that let the fruit stand out, but the overall balance felt off, and the neon dome with blueberry smoke felt more gimmicky than elegant. Overall, the meal seemed focused more on presentation than taste or value. For the cost, I wouldn’t recommend it.
I've been meaning to get up here for a while. Kinda bummed with myself that I haven't done it sooner. We had an awesome experience. Big thanks to Gabby our excellent server for guiding us through an awesome taste of the incredible food this place has to offer. This is one of the few places that Arlington has to offer with an excellent fine dining experience that transports you to big city vibes. The ambiance is top notch. Let's talk about the food. I am a big foodie and as I mentioned I'm so disappointed in myself for not coming here already. Yes it's a little pricey, but the food is worth it. The fusion of Asian cuisines is unique and memorable in every way. One of those places where you just can't order something wrong. All of it is so good. Go wild get everything, ask Gabby to tell you what to get if you can't decide. You will be so happy. Thanks guys!
