I've enrolled two dogs in classes at SDTC, one went through beginning and advanced home companion classes, the second went through beginning and 2 rounds of advanced classes. The price is great for 8 weeks of training, and I've recommended the club to many people, but I've become very discouraged after taking my dog through the Canine Good Citizen test for the third time. My dog may need some work when it comes to being play reactive around other dogs, but being told that my dog had a tight leash by someone who wasn't actually at those stations was disappointing when I was not given any guidelines to what qualified as a "loose leash" each time. I get nervous and hold the leash too tight, not any fault of my dog, and made a conscious effort to correct that. At the end of the most recent test one of the volunteers let their dog out of a kennel and it ran straight to my dog and though my dog didn't react at all it's not part of the test so my dog just got more stressed after being at the club for an hour and going through the the entire test. There was also a dog that belonged to one of the volunteers that was in a kennel being vocal through the whole test. Some of the volunteer trainers seem to actually care and offered helpful advice throughout classes, others were very dismissive and rude at times. The CGC test is very inconsistent because of the several volunteers that take turns at each station for every test. The classes might work well for some dogs, but 12 dogs in each session stressed my dog out more and more. I wanted to appreciate this club for being AKC certified, being run by volunteers and having a very reasonable price compared to other facilities, but in the end it just wasn't worth it.

‼️Warning: Read Before Enrolling at Spokane Dog Training Club‼️ Dog parents, consider this a friendly warning based on a genuinely upsetting experience. I enrolled my 10-month-old pup at the Spokane Dog Training Club expecting guidance, structure, and care. What I found instead was chaos, poor organization, and a stressful environment for both humans and dogs. 🔹Training Structure: The club requires all participants to pass the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class before moving forward, even if you’re aiming for agility or other training. While I appreciate the idea behind this, the instruction quality made it nearly impossible to succeed. Classes felt rushed, disorganized, and unproductive. 🔹Instruction Quality: The instructors (mostly volunteers) seemed overwhelmed, undertrained, and often rude or dismissive. There was little to no individualized support, and we were all herded through like cattle. 🔹Facility & Safety Concerns: The building is very echoey and poorly maintained. Dogs of all sizes and training levels were packed together — not ideal, and honestly, not safe. Easy Parking? Forget it! They are letting the next class's dogs and owners come in and out while our session is still going on. An absolute mayhem! 🔹Negative Impact: Instead of making progress, my dog actually regressed during our time there. He left more anxious after each session. This place added stress instead of building confidence. Yes, the price tag is only $65, but you get what you pay for — and in this case, that meant confusion, stress, and zero progress. 👎SAVE your Money and your dog the Trauma! Look elsewhere for professional, compassionate training.

Have had my pup in 3 classes and although she and I still have a lot to learn, this seems like the place to do it. Group traing of all ages and breeds. Good canine behavior is the goal for house dogs to show dogs. Great bang for the buck.

We LOVE Spokane Dog Training Club. We currently have a puppy in the Star Pupoy class and a one yr old in the Obedience class. The instructors are great, and both us and our pooches are getting well-trained. With a house full of animals, it sure brings some calm to the chaos.

This Club is absolutely amazing! My dog had so many issues listening and keeping attention. Within the first week they gave me tools to help train my dog. By the end of the 8 week long class I have a different dog. He has learned leash work and just general tricks that have helped us to bond and he looks to me for commands which is the one thing I wanted from him. I have already signed up for more classes because I am just so impressed with their training tips. They are hands on and ready to help with any “issues” you may have. Don’t be offended if they have you retake classes. This isn’t to say your animal isn’t good enough or you aren’t doing a good job. It just means they believe they could benefit from a little more time or continued training. I would recommend anyone bring their dog here. Young or old! You can teach an old dog new tricks!
