This studio is busy and has a big schedule! I’ve been taking salsa here for two months and I'm hooked. They have an impressive amount of classes for all levels. Sabine and Ernesto are wonderful teachers, and my private intro session with Fernanda was fantastic—she is professional, super helpful, and very warm. A great place to learn

This place has potential to become your favorite dance spot in Toronto. I attended classes almost every day from 6–10 pm for about a year and a half (I reached Level 5 in both Salsa and Bachata and attended their ladies team for a while), and overall it was a really fun, worthwhile experience. The instructors are professional, friendly, enthusiastic, and genuinely knowledgeable. If you show up regularly, it’s easy to build a solid group of friends as well. The community vibe is real. If you love salsa or bachata and are looking for a beginner-friendly place, this is my go-to spot. Level 1 classes are flexible, which makes starting out way less intimidating. They also offer free first session and an affordable unlimited-class option for your first month. After that, the pricing is similar to other studios, but considering how many classes they run and how long they’re open, it’s actually great value. The studio setup works well too. The mirrors are big, so whether you’re short or tall, you can actually see yourself dance (which matters more than you think). It’s a solid place to start whether your goal is social dancing or eventually joining performance or competitive teams as an adult. They offer ladies’ teams, men’s teams, partner teams, and the performance classes are genuinely enjoyable. Overall, a strong dance school for absolute beginners with good energy, good people, and a lot of room to grow.

Hello, I am a loyal Steps Dance Studio client since 2014. First, congratulations to Jennifer Aucoin for your successes. I started attending classes in 2014, which was when the studio looked different (or maybe was at a different location) and enjoyed them. In 2019, I had a fun time at a trial lesson and social (thank you for that opportunity). More recently, I connected with Medina who was generous and professional (spoke at a nice pace, has a good voice, and excellent communication skills). Medina recently booked me a private salsa and bachata lesson for 30 minutes for which I received an email. The private dance lesson was with Jason who impressed me with his attitude towards me being rusty on coming back to the centre and having not taken dance classes in years. Jason, I applaud you 👏. Then, on the same day this November 2025, after my private lesson, I participated in a Salsa level 3 class (also with Jason). Everything went great despite my lack of competence to learn one of the moves, which I could learn with time and practise. So, SDS has been a reliable, professional, and comfortable place for me since 2014. Also, Nora at the front desk was lovely to speak with and get to know. Super grateful this dance studio exists and has been thriving. Keep going ❤️

Highly recommend Steps Dance Studio. Instructors are knowledgeable, patient, personable and articulate. Shout out to Heather, Magaly, Daniel and Santino. Front desk staff are experienced, helpful and friendly (shout out to Jen and Jackie). There's a genuine sense of community between students. The premises are clean and well maintained; the location easily accessed by TTC. Get your dance shoes and head over.

Severely discouraged. I'm a 17-year-old university student who was so excited to come in for my dance trial lesson today it took me an hour to scooter there and was talk to quite dismissively by the man doing my trial. Having a past working in customer service, I never would've thought to talk to a customer like this especially during a trial lesson when I want them to sign up for my lessons. I know I'm not the best dancer, and I don't know all the cues yet but I didn't expect to be talked to like this and I was really excited to start classes. I walked out with a frown on my face. Will be looking for other dance studios nearby. The ladies at the front were nice though they said goodbye :) and help me find everything I needed when I got there.
