We worked with Maya at Studio 22 to prepare for our wedding first dance and could not have been happier. We came in with very limited dance skills. Maya was incredibly kind and patient and helped us build a simple routine we could actually learn and perform with confidence. She broke everything down clearly and made the process comfortable and enjoyable. Our friends and family were genuinely amused and delighted to see us dance and look surprisingly coordinated. The reaction alone made the lessons worth it. We are very grateful to Maya for the time, care, and encouragement she gave us. We highly recommend her to any couple preparing for a wedding dance.
We worked with Aimée who helped us choreograph our first dance for our wedding. She made great use of our 5 lessons. By the 3rd lesson, we had already gotten the dance down. The last lessons were just perfecting. She was extremely personable. She met us where we were at novice dance levels and helped us elevate our skills where people were really impressed by our dance. It was such a beautiful day and she helped make it so special!
I've taken 2-step and line dancing classes at Studio 22. The instructors are top-notch! The studio itself is spacious with plenty of seating and tables along the perimeter. Clean, convenient restrooms are great for quick breaks during class. Note that the studio is on the 2nd floor. There's an exterior staircase and elevator (that was broken on my most recent visit). Also, I've witnessed confusion upon check-in multiple times with other customers having misunderstood the process for their 1st free class or groupon redemption (to which the staff gave a lot of pushback and told the customers they needed to pay the drop-in class fee because they hadn't booked their discount properly in advance). So, be sure you understand their process - classes are absolutely worth it!
Highly recommend Studio 22 for your wedding first dance lessons! Maya went above and beyond helping us get ready for our dance. Our dance lessons were one of our favorite parts of the wedding planning process. We felt so confident during the first dance and our guests loved it!
I went to Studio 22 for dance lessons with my fiancé and father/daughter dance lessons with my dad in prep for our wedding. I bought several private lessons for each of us and Aimee Mendez choreographed both of our wedding dances to the songs we chose and worked with all of us over several weeks. She thought of everything from our entrance into the reception to the transition between our first dance and our father/daughter dance so that everything looked polished and wasn't awkward on the day of. Being inexperienced dancers, we came in knowing nothing but left feeling really confident about our first dance and we actually had fun!! Aimee made the steps easy for us to remember but also look really beautiful. She is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent dance teacher for people of all levels. She made dancing fun and comfortable and we really enjoyed working with her. Highly recommend spending the money on wedding dance lessons at Studio 22 so your first dances look polished and professional!!
