If you are worried about keeping length because you've been burned by previous stylists or just because you're trying to grow your hair out, you can absolutely trust Brittany! The first time I saw her I had not had a haircut in 19 months out of fear because a stylist at a different establishment had given me a blunt cut to my shoulder blades instead of trimming the ends on my tailbone-length layers. Brittany listened carefully, looked at the pictures I brought, and repeatedly confirmed with me the amount of length she was taking off to assuage my concerns. She never made me feel bad for being overly anxious and was extremely nice about me switching appointment dates because I misread the calendar. AND she was able to keep so much of the length on the longest layer that the only way I knew it had been cut was because the ends felt healthy again. I've been back to her twice and both experiences have also been great. As for the salon itself, the vibe is extremely warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!
I’ve had bad experiences in the past with different hair stylists in the past which had led me to not trust anyone with my hair because they never gave me what I asked for or gave me the exact opposite. When I came here for my birthday I came with high expectations to get my monnies worth and let’s just say I will never go anywhere else. I trust Madi as my stylist and she always exceeds at what I want. She specializes in curly hair, color and extensions. I have fine thin straight hair and I always leave the salon with my hair feeling super healthy and beautiful. And I also just feel super comfortable coming here all the ladies dress up so cute and comfy.. and they’re so attentive to any you need.
I have been coming to Sugar Shack for over two years. Sarah has been doing my extensions for almost two years. It doesn’t matter what I want, she always does it better than I imagined. We get to play around with colors in the shade ranges that fit me best, and she’s been able to give me my pop of color while still having the length I want. It is the best investment I’ve ever made into myself, and Sarah always makes me feel spoiled and beautiful. The color technique is amazing. The extensions always look beautiful, and it is always the best few hours I spend for myself. Bonus points we also get to talk about cats! The extensions she does are the best I’ve seen, and nobody believes that they are until I show them. Sarah is hands down the best hair stylist, and the best with extensions. The pictures show just how good they are.
Just got my hair trimmed today by Madi! It was great, she fixed everything I didn’t love about my hair. Same day before and after photos!
--Update: (bear with me, lol) So after I had redone my review the owner (or manager) of the store called me and said how sorry she was to hear that the pink had fallen out as quickly as it had, she then offered to redo all the pink in my hair, with a semi darker color that shouldn't fall out, but fade to the desired pink that I had wanted. (except for the design that was on the sides, which is okay with) all for free! She expressed how I should have come in to tell them that it had happened and they would have fixed it for me, but now that I know, I am redoing my rating to show 5 star across the board. Amazing experience!! Haleigh was just amazing!! I came in with a vague plan and she brought it to life and more! Sadly however not even a week went by and ALL of the pink fell out of my hair, I did everything she instructed me to do about taking care of it, and nothing, I'm disappointed that I spent all that money to get it done and it ALL falls out... debating on going back. I will post pictures for reference.
