Came for the throwing taster after my partner gifted me a voucher for Christmas and I had a blast. Our teacher was very knowledgeable and helpful (and funny) and I can’t wait to return to the studio in the future

Fabulous morning spent at Sunken Studio in Leeds! Went for the taster throwing session... Great fun and great tutor. .. Calm peaceful environment spattered with laughter if our 'pots' collapsed on the wheel.. x

I took the 3-day glazing course and found it excellent. We covered the fundamentals and tested our own tiles, which was very useful for understanding materials and processes. Chris was an outstanding instructor - clear, knowledgeable, and supportive. The optional 'Big Mix' day on the Thursday was a great addition (at no extra cost). I left with my own glazes made throughout the course, as well as test tiles and test lines, so I can continue developing them further. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn how to mix their own glazes and move beyond pre-made commercial options, or even if you’re simply curious about the process. Thanks again

Such a great experience yesterday! I’m on a journey to try all the things I’ve wanted to do but have never had time and found Sunken Studio. Chris was a lovely tutor and was incredibly patient and taught well to all us newbies! I managed to make a bowl (or something that closely resembled one!) and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Hoping to come back for a full course!

If you want to understand glaze’s in order to develop your own, I cannot recommend this course enough. The amount of detail was perfect and balanced perfectly with practical sessions to make the theory come alive. The course was small enough to offer you support when required but large enough to enable a good amount of colours and test tiles to be developed. Thank you Chris and the team at @sunkenstudio for an enjoyable 4 days.
