My kids have been learning carnatic music for the last few months and have been really enjoying the learning, the teacher is very patient, kind and committed, helping the kids improve and learn. The team also has been really accomodating with any changes , really appreciate it. Highly recommend Swaralaya to anyone who wants to start their music journey.
Swaralaya Music School has been a truly wonderful experience for us. I am learning piano from Mr. Yadhu, and my wife is learning Carnatic vocals from Ms. Suja Mahesh. Both teachers are extremely patient, encouraging, and thoughtful in their teaching approach. We were honestly a bit hesitant to start learning music at this stage in life, but the way the classes are structured and taught made us feel comfortable from day one. The instructors take the time to explain concepts clearly, move at a pace that suits the student, and create a very positive learning environment. Learning something new after a long time has been refreshing and fulfilling, and Swaralaya has played a big role in making that happen. We now truly feel that it’s never too late to learn, especially when guided by such dedicated and supportive teachers. Highly recommended for anyone looking to begin or continue their musical journey.
An update based on the organisation's response- Denying services for expressing a concern, when the student accepted the proposed way forward (screenshot attached) is unreasonable. The owner / manager does not abide by the course agreement when the students are expected to. When I initially joined their classes, admittedly could not make a bulk of the schedule times. They accommodated one adjustment made within 24 hours, rightfully so couldn't accommodate the others. A month later when my card was charged and I questioned the team about the same. I was informed that the deductions accounted for two classes I did not make, which in reality is valid. However, considering I had cancelled the classes a month ago and that the deductions happened far later - I expected a heads up from the team. The owner / manager responded defensively; an expectation that the customer is informed isn't one to take offense to. The second incident happened today, I asked for carnatic vocals session - the owner / manager denied trial classes. The course agreement states any student that joins a course may request a non-obligatory trial session. However, the owner / manager further denied services on the basis that the concern was shared. I'll attach screenshots of the conversation so the people reading this review know that nothing disrespectful was conveyed. Any organization that can't abide by their own rules and denies services on the basis of expressing a concern, is either being arbitrary or acting without good faith.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely outstanding experience at Swaralaya Music! Swaralaya Music is truly a wonderful place for anyone passionate about learning music. The atmosphere is warm, encouraging, and very professional. The instructors are talented, patient, and genuinely committed to helping students grow at their own pace. A special mention to the Violin classes — they are exceptional! The teaching style is clear and inspiring, making even the most challenging techniques easy to understand. The dedication and passion shown in the violin sessions make learning enjoyable and motivating. I highly recommend Swaralaya Music to anyone looking for quality music education. A perfect place for beginners, experienced learners, and anyone who simply loves music!
My son has been taking vocal coaching classes at the Swaralaya School of Music, and we’ve had a very positive experience overall. The instructors are skilled, patient, and genuinely invested in helping students improve their technique and confidence. The quality of teaching has been good, and my son really enjoys his lessons. The classes are also reasonably priced, offering great value for the quality of instruction provided. We’re very happy with the progress so far and would gladly recommend the Swaralaya SOM to all those are interested.
