Could you tell me the schedule for Saturday?

The tour was very nice and informative, but a 1 1/2 hour tour on wooden chairs is pretty tough on a senior citizen.

Great time killer and good historical information. Very nice staff. Go past the Snack Shack to water and you arrived.

We had a family outing with out-of-towners and decided to go on the canal boat ride. The ticket process online was easy. You don’t get actual tickets but sign in with your name and number in your party. The boat wasn’t full and we could choose our seats. There was a docent aboard who narrated the ride. Lots of information on the history of the area and how Fort Wayne came to be. The seats are flat wooden seat which are really uncomfortable. If you have a stadium cushion of some kind, bring it. We went on a week night and parking wasn’t easy to find, might be impossible on a weekend.

The Sweet Breeze canal boat ride is a truly beautiful experience calm, scenic, and a great way to see Fort Wayne from the water. The boat itself is vibrant and well-kept, and the ride was incredibly relaxing. Definitely a highlight of the day. That said, the narration from the tour guide left a lot to be desired. The majority of the stories shared focused on the darker, more negative aspects of local history which could be educational if told with the right balance and sensitivity. Instead, it often came across as one-sided and, at times, uncomfortable. It’s also 2025 we should not still be referring to Native Americans as “Indians,” and the way the stories were told seemed to frame Americans as the “superiors” in the narrative. That kind of outdated language and perspective really took away from what could’ve been a more meaningful and inclusive experience. Still, the ride itself is wonderful, and with updated storytelling, it could easily be a 5-star attraction.

I really enjoyed the tour! It was very relaxing, and just enough breeze. The tour guide was great, I came to Fort Wayne in 1969. I learned a lot behind the history of many places. And I really loved how we went from one river to the next. I want to do it again!
