I like that this place is making functional medicine more accessible, but unfortunately I did not have a good experience. I had a televisit (was not given an in office option) with NP Rodriguez. She gave me an incorrect diagnosis; in addition I never received a follow up from the office for the labs I was supposed to do. I ended up going to another clinic that was able to help me with my issue.
I met with Dr. Farrah today and she listened to all my concerns, asked for my preferences and made great recommendations on other doctors to consult and explained things very clearly. She was also personable, friendly and hopeful. I must say that the sweet young lady who did my bloodwork was the best I have ever had. She painlessly, without having to stick me again and again to get a vain, extracted several vials of blood. No bruising!!! So grateful for this clinic.
As a first time patient, i was told to schedule an appointment to establish care before I can schedule an appointment for annual physical. That’s fine but the second time I went in for an annual physical, I received a bill weeks later stating I have some balance due to the fact that the doctor had discussed things outside of annual physical. I understand there are some things that may not be considered preventive and there will be a copay for that, but this is something that should have been communicated and verbally informed beforehand especially when my appointment is scheduled as an annual physical. I complained and told them if I had known I would not want to discuss anything outside of what is considered preventive, and they insisted that their providers always inform patients about this. Paid for the balance but I will be taking my business elsewhere, very disappointed with the lack of transparency.
I cannot say enough good words about Dr Ruan, Geny and Ruben! They are amazing! They really listen to you and give you actual help. I’ve seen so many doctors that ignore symptoms or try to throw meds at everything without focusing on the root cause. I recommend this practice to everyone especially those with autoimmune issues.
My first visit with Texas Center for Lifestyle Medicine was the best and now my hope for my health has been renewed! For many years I have truly struggled with my health with no real answers. I have been to countless doctors, specialists, and a “really good” functional doctor “that would get me healthier than I’ve ever been” ; I must also add that I have spent a fortune on my health - to get absolutely nowhere - and left feeling discouraged and with more questions than before my journey began. UNTIL NOW!!! On my first visit I actually have a real diagnosis, AND a very thorough plan for the necessary testing and treatment. All tailored to me, for me, so that I can be healthy and well! Amazing!!! I am very pleased and now, looking forward to what’s next!
