I’ve recently moved from the Valley Forge area to Old City and was hoping to find some great Pilates instructors. As an ex-pro ballet and contemporary dancer, it’s important for me to keep my body tuned up for teaching gigs. I was hoping to reconnect with my Pilates practice since it’s been a while. So glad I found this place! The Balance Room instructors are excellent, knowledgeable, and professional. They have unique teaching styles while maintaining a high standard of excellence. I’ll be going here indefinitely. Outstanding.
I had my second Pilates Reformer class here with Karlee, and it was delightful. I love how engaged and attentive she was with everyone. I had no issues following along and she was quick to correct form when needed. I prefer smaller groups for this reason. Even though I missed half the class due to transportation issues, I still received exactly what I needed. It wasn’t even a full class for me and I still left feeling physically, emotionally, and mentally aligned. I am rising higher in love with the art of Pilates, with every session. Looking forward to making this a ritualistic practice for me! Hope to be back at the Balance Room soon!
I’ve been going to The Balance Room for 2 years now and it is incredible. The space is clean and light, they have all the equipment you need on hand, and the staff is smart and kind. So many studios have instructors that either don’t know how to modify for basic injuries, or worse, shame you for not being able to ‘keep up’ - not so at The Balance Room. They have a warm and inclusive approach to Pilates that has kept me coming back! I spent most of 2023 enduring a difficult pregnancy and The Balance Room was my happy place. All the staff there has been lovely, but extra kudos to the owner, Mari, and longtime teacher Lily for making me feel strong and capable, even as I was modifying almost every move in the class. This studio was the first place I went to solo postpartum! Genuinely one of my favorite places in Queen Village!
The Balance Room is a fantastic place for a challenging Pilates workout. Mari, the owner and instructor, leads such a great class every time. I appreciate her inclusive approach to teaching, suggesting modifications and variations for all levels. She is so kind, knowledgeable, and community minded.
