Great venue to watch live music. Nearly every band sound crisp and clear. Just saw Aborted and Cattle Decapitation there and they sounded awesome. The Vip Table was a little pricey but well worth the experience and great table service. Definitely will opt for another table on my next visit.
This theater is absolutely beautiful. The ceiling has an ornate design and you can feel how historic this place is. Great place to attend an event!
A beautiful venue with great sound inside. The website is lacking and some of the information is wrong, so I'll try to fix that for you with this. First off, it's in great repair, the bathrooms are good, the bars inside are good and the food going by looks good (we didn't try any). It's usually general admission, and there are seats available on a first come first serve basis upstairs (so you line up early and race up there as soon as you get in) or an open floor down below. Their website indicates you cannot have a purse larger than 12x12, but there are many purses inside well over that size. Be advised. The website says they have no coat check and you can't bring an umbrella in if it's raining. This is wrong. They have a coat check, they do a great job and they'll let you stash your umbrella there also. The website encourages you to park about eight blocks away at 7th and Fig, but there is a plethora of parking available for less money, Much closer, including a lot literally across the street. Be advised.
Loved this venue! Beautiful old architecture. We were GA for John Carpenter, got there a few hrs early, and were able to get very close to the stage. Fast entry. Great sound, lighting, and background imagery.
Nice venue with classy old furnishings. Bar service was efficient and friendly, although drinks were pricey. Live Nation made sure to send out a same-day reminder email, announcing the band would go on at 8pm (despite having been previously announced to be 7pm). Upon arriving, the staff made clear that the band would not go on until 9pm, so this was known from the beginning and they lied to us. I fought through 2 hrs. of peak traffic to get down there early and paid too much for parking for nothing. This is the kind of nonsense that discourages me from going out to live music altogether, but I couldn't resist a chance to see The Chameleons. I was definitely happy I was wearing ear protection. Most people had earplugs. Unfortunately the sound quality of blasting the sound enough to reverberate the walls and reflect repeated multipath vibrations, just to be dampened by earplugs cannot compete remotely with the quality of music that's not made deafening in the first place. A recording I made of a song at the event sounded way better than actually being there wearing overpriced supposedly concert-friendly earplugs. Never put deaf people in charge of the volume knob. When live music finally dies out, it won't be because of a pandemic or an economic depression, it will be because people finally tired of paying for abusive experiences. For now, however, people still love the abuse.
