Had a cut here two days ago Enrique ended up cutting me hair and did a fantastic job. Showed him a picture of what I wanted for only 10 seconds and he pretty much nailed it
I've been here three times and always got my cuts done by Louis, who manages to go beyond my expectations every single time! Don't be afraid to book with him, especially if you have long hair! I'll definitely keep on coming back.
The overall experience was a 5/5. The staff have a fun effortless chemistry, it's in a very easily accessible spot, the haircuts I saw (including mine) were all really well done. I just wish it was a little less expensive. Almost double the price of where I usually go. It's more of a testament to how inexpensive my usual barber is than a flaw of The Common Room specifically, but it will keep me from returning very often. Other than that though, great vibes and great haircuts.
I had a great experience here! Bilal was amazing! Friendly, professional, and right on time. He really took the time to understand what I wanted and delivered a perfect cut. Jon, the owner, was also very welcoming and made sure everything went smoothly. I definitely recommend this place and I’ll be coming back for sure. Great service overall!
Best barber experience! If you ever parented a teen, you know how tough it is to find things both parents and kids agree on. After a year of searching I almost gave up hope finding a barber that could do a stylish cut my 16-year-old hockey player son would feel great with, AND would also provide quality and service that would make his parents happy. And then I was thrilled to find Alexis at The Common Room Barbershop, because he provided the best barber experience we’ve ever had, with both teen and parents leaving extremely happy. After sharing some photos and loose ideas of what my son was looking for, Alexis made some suggestions that addressed our concerns. He had great barber skills that we haven't experienced anywhere else with texturizing and styling. This was probably the first time the final cut absolutely met and even exceeded the expectations, and there were nothing that we wished was done differently/better. Alexis is also a hockey player and a fan, so the conversation during the entire cut with my son was a pleasant surprise and a great added bonus that enhanced my son's experience. Alexis' help with selecting the styling products was also very much appreciated. The shop’s ambiance was nice. Scheduling an appointment was easy on the phone just a day prior, and the person who booked it for me mentioned the student discount, which I certainly can’t complain about. Even though we came to see Alexis while visiting Montreal from the US, and live about 9 hrs from Montreal, we’ll definitely be coming back to see him when we are in the area.
