From the very beginning, Melissa brought a warm, personable, and reassuring presence to the planning process. She immediately put us at ease and made everything feel manageable through her generosity with time, thoughtful guidance, and the incredible resources she shared along the way. Planning a backyard wedding from across the country—while living in Los Angeles and organizing a wedding in Virginia Beach—felt overwhelming at times, but Melissa made our dream wedding possible. Her organization, expertise, and steady communication were invaluable, and we truly could not have done this without her. On the wedding day itself, we were faced with heavy rain, and Melissa handled everything with grace and professionalism. Her poised demeanor kept the evening flowing smoothly and allowed us to fully enjoy our celebration despite the unexpected weather. Being paired with Anne Michelle to be our wedding planner felt like fate. From the moment we met we knew we were going to plan something incredible together. We first were introduced to her work after seeing our old classmate post about their wedding that she had planned. Not thinking much about who we would be paired with, we submitted our inquiry with The Hive when it came time to choose a planner. Luckily for us, our first interview with any planner was with Anne Michelle, and after it was finished we felt like we didn’t need to inquire with anyone else. We were looking for someone who could handle helping us plan a Vietnamese Tea Ceremony, church ceremony, and reception, all on the same day. From the moment we started 2 years ago Anne Michelle always was on our side. She was open to our quirky ideas while also keeping us realistic about certain planning aspects. She never pushed us to choose a certain design or vendor while also guiding us on making decisions, and made sure that our wedding day reflected both of us. When stressful times started to arise she jumped into action and made us feel so at ease. Her true work became apparent on the wedding day where she navigated last minute additions (unbeknown to us beforehand) by our families with grace, and made sure that we were okay with how things were going. From our perspective, the day ran so smoothly that it truly felt like nothing went wrong, and that’s all thanks to Anne Michelle and her team. Also, shoutout to her assistants, LeeAnn, Taylor, and Hien, who were rockstars throughout the day! Having Anne Michelle was the best investment we could have made, and we will always recommend her to any couple getting ready to plan their wedding. We’re so honored to be her first full planning DC wedding, and we hope she feels the same about us!

From the moment I first met Melissa, she immediately put me at ease. Her warmth, professionalism, and calming presence made me feel confident that we were in the best hands. Throughout the planning process, she kept all of our meeting notes and files impeccably organized, which made everything feel manageable and stress-free. Leading up to the wedding, Melissa was beyond prepared and incredibly supportive. She truly listened to our vision and executed it with such precision and care. On the day of the wedding, she anticipated every need before I could even ask. There wasn’t a single detail that slipped by her—every question I had, she had already thought of. When we thought that some important frames were missing, she had a solution and backup plan created in seconds without ever getting frazzled. Her assistant, Deborah, was also amazing—attentive, on top of every detail, and so helpful to have around. Our entire wedding party and family couldn’t stop commenting on how incredible Melissa was. She brought such a thoughtful, steady energy to the day, executed everything flawlessly, and never once overstepped. Instead, she offered her expertise with confidence exactly when it was needed. I couldn’t be more grateful or happy with how the day went. Melissa and The Hive are truly exceptional, and hiring her was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process!
