Charming atmosphere, but bring your wallet The Original Pancake House definitely has that nostalgic, old-school charm that makes for a fun morning out. It’s clearly a local favorite because it was packed and buzzing with energy when I visited. The Logistics: Be aware that parking can be a little tight if you arrive during peak hours, and because the restaurant isn't very large, you should expect a bit of a wait for a table. However, I was impressed by how efficiently they run things—the line actually moves rather quickly. The Food & Value: While the experience is great, the prices feel a bit steep for breakfast. Paying nearly $20 for an egg omelet and almost $17 for the famous 49er Flapjacks is hard to justify, even with the classic atmosphere and solid service. For me, the quality of the food and the price point don't quite match up. It’s a wonderful spot for a nostalgic treat or a special morning out, but just be prepared for a bill that feels a bit high for the standard fare.
Food was great, awesome, bustling little country style restaurant. Our waitress had the personality of a wet dish rag, but other than that, great menu options and nice environment.
I was skeptical, not going to lie. Reddit lead me here when i was looking for the best hash browns in Orange County. when we pulled up on Sunday morning around 12pm, it was packed which is a great sign. we waited about 35 minutes before we were seated in a back area with 4 tables total. hash browns were worth it 👌🏽 i got mine extra crispy. i prefer a thinner hash brown so that it's at about 50-75% crisp, so this was a bit thick for me and too much soft potato inside. not taking a star for that cause it's a preference thing. someone is going to think it's the greatest hash brown ever cause it's already close for me. omelettes were delicious. they were more frittata than omelette as it was served open faced, but no complaint. it was delicious.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Original Pancake House in Anaheim is definitely worth visiting! The food was absolutely delicious — especially the 49er pancake, which was light, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Everything we ordered had that classic, comforting, traditional taste that keeps you coming back. The service was amazing — friendly, attentive, and quick, which really made the experience even better. Parking can be a little tricky. There’s some space on the side, and if it gets tight you might have to park next door by the school, but it’s manageable and definitely worth it once you’re inside. Overall, this place is a gem: great food, great service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. If you’re craving traditional, hearty breakfast done right, this is the spot!
Cravings fixed! Our last visit was pre-Covid & restaurant renovation which was back in March 2019 according to my last Yelp check-in. Party of 2 @ 12nn Aside from the restaurant renovations which, btw, turned out great! Open-concept dining and plenty of parking spots! We ordered the usual, German Pancakes, of course! It’s still just as good as we remember. The Swedish pancakes (3 pcs) came with lingonberry and we also ordered a side of bacon and eggs! Everything was perfect! The staff were super busy yet very attentive. They’re always making sure your coffee stays fresh and hot as you enjoy your meal. I’m so glad we were able to squeeze the time during our 2025 Annual Inspire Magic Key Disneyland (end of the year) visit! :P
