I had never been to a dance class before but I had wanted to try swing dancing for over a decade, my partner and I went along to one of the Swing Project's Bootlegger nights just to see what it was all about and I immediately fell in love with the lindy hop. I have been attending the weekly classes at Chapter ever since, and I feel myself progressing more and more each class, I feel more confident in myself and more comfortable in my silliness. Jessie and Benjie really help to make everyone feel welcome and they break everything down into bite-size chunks so that everyone on every level understands. Lindy hop night is the highlight of my week, I've made some amazing friends and connections through these classes, and I would recommend to anyone who is interested in learning to dance, no matter if you have taken a dance class before or not. Thank you so much Jessie and Benjie!

If you’re interested in learning swing dance then you’ve found the right place! The Swing Project is a super fun and friendly scene with lots of regular classes and events. There’s always such a welcoming atmosphere and it’s a lovely scene to get involved in! I’ve had so much much fun learning with Jessie and Benjie, they are fantastic teachers as well as being inspiring dancers! The lessons are well structured and fun, it’s clear a lot of thought and effort goes into them. The lessons give you a really strong foundation and understanding of the dance as well as being fun and engaging! I’ve learned a lot since joining, not just the dance itself but the history and culture surrounding the dance. It’s definitely helped to deepen my appreciation and passion for swing dance! Thanks to The Swing Project for all you do! :)

I cannot recommend The Swing Project highly enough - Jessie and Benjie are brilliant teachers and have an amazing knowledge of swing dancing styles which they break down into manageable lessons for learning dancers - they also know loads about the music scene and history that shaped this dance movements, you get so much more than just the steps at their classes! The Swing Project community is a beautiful part of the Cardiff social scene - really welcoming, with lots of events and ways to meet people! Super friendly for beginner dancers too :)

I have been learning to Lindy Hop with the Swing Project in Cardiff for just over a year and I cannot praise Jessie and Benjie as teachers highly enough. They make every lesson fun and inclusive and take time to get to know everyone. They are so welcoming and they have built a community of dancers in Cardiff (and beyond) that is positive, friendly and sociable. They put on social dances for all levels and taster classes for complete beginners, as I was. Lindy Hop is a fun way to keep fit and meet people and the music is fantastic! I'm hooked!
