I’ve really enjoyed taking classes at the Viscount. I’ve tried a few different class types over the past 10 years or so. Anjali is an amazing teacher for Bollywood and Bhangra classes. She does a great job breaking things down so that beginners and those that are more advanced can adjust moves/steps to their level. I love her warm and infectious energy. I can honestly say there have been some days that my mood has completely changed after one of her classes. I appreciate that you can do a drop in or sign up for a package of classes.
Bhangra classes with Anjali are AMAZING!!! She is such an incredible and warm teacher and the class is great for total beginners who have never done or heard of bhangra before, and for people with more experience too. it’s just so much fun and she always has a great selection of music for class too. We’re so blessed to have Anjali here sharing South Asian cultural dances, I’m excited to check out her Bollywood dance class soon too!
I first started taking Bollywood classes with Anjali in 2022. A few months later, I decided to try Bhangra with her, even though I had no experience. Almost four years later, I can proudly say I feel much more confident in both Bhangra and Giddha, all thanks to Anjali. Her classes follow a clear routine, and she makes sure everyone understands each step before moving on. Don’t expect to learn one full choreography in a single class. Instead, you will learn beautiful movements, their importance and background, how to move with grace, and how to carry yourself with confidence. She was my real introduction to dance in Portland, and I absolutely recommend her. She’s also the sweetest person 💜
I absolutely LOVE Anjali and her Bollywood and Bhangra classes at The Viscount! I had never taken a dance class before. Anjali is so welcoming, kind, and energetic. I had such a great time, even as a total beginner! Anjali is so expert at making her classes fun and accessible to people of all ability and experience levels. I love learning about the history and culture of the dances in addition to dance fundamentals and choreography. I’ve been going regularly for 2 years now, and I’m totally hooked! I highly recommend taking Anjali’s classes!
We worked with Sarah over two private lessons on our first dance for our wedding and we are so glad we did! Sarah is an amazing instructor who not only helped choreograph our dance, but broke down and explained theory behind each move to make it easier for us to learn. (She also has years of experience working with couples and in the wedding industry and knows the most photogenic dance moves for photographers!) We had a blast learning from Sarah, practicing our dance in the months leading up to our wedding, and performing for our family and friends. Many, many thanks to Sarah for helping us create this cherished dance for us that we can continue to enjoy for years to come! If you are on the fence about going to Sarah for wedding dance lessons, just do it!! You won’t regret it.
