Tyler was great! The conditions were tough and he still put us on fish. We had 5 on the boat so he made an effort to pilot from the tower so we would have more room. He did a great job, keeping 5 anglers baited up and retying multiple breakoffs all while staying positive. He also put in the work with the cast net, putting in the time needed to catch a livewell full of bait. Without that extra bait I think we would have had a harder time catching the fish.
As someone who has vacationed and fished on the Eastern Shore my whole life, I can confidently say that Captain Jon and his crew are true watermen who know how to put you on the fish. The old saying goes, “90% of the fish are in 10% of the water,” and these guys definitely know where that 10% is! Even our slowest moments were full of action. We originally had a trip scheduled a few weeks earlier, but Captain Jon was upfront and transparent about the weather conditions. Since it was my group’s first time out, I wanted to make sure they had the best experience possible, and he worked with me to reschedule for a better day. That meant a lot, especially knowing how booked up these guys stay. I’ve been on several charters in the past, and I can honestly say this boat stood out—it was spotless, very comfortable, and incredibly stable. Whether you’re planning a family trip, a day with friends, or even a business outing, I would 100% recommend Captain Jon and the Tidewater crew. They’ll make sure you have a great time on the water.
Tyler and Captain Carson at Tidewater Charters are the BEST!!! Best trip ever with my nephew and brother in law who were in from Iowa. Pulled in the biggest Red we’ve ever seen. My nephew will never forget this family experience!!!!! Highly recommend!!!!
My husband and young son went out with Tyler during our week in CC and had a blast! They caught a cobia which we cooked for dinner (and shared with friends) and it was the best day of my son’s life :) he was so proud. They had an amazing time on the boat and Tyler was incredible with our son. Will definitely book again next summer!
From the ease of booking and communicating our trip with Captain Tyler, to Captain Tyler keeping us informed as we were expecting high winds on the day of our trip. Our day started later in the morning as we fished with Captain Kevin. We personally fish on our own boat and know full well what’s it’s like to fish in rough conditions on the Chesapeake Bay. Captain Kevin not only guided us safely, he put us on the Cobia and it made for some exciting fishing. Sharing his skills and knowledge, Captain Kevin made our fishing trip a lifelong memory! I highly recommend Tidewater Charters!
