They came Highly Recommended. Today was our 1st visit so no training, just a visit to talk w/ the trainer & introduce the dogs so he could come up w/ a plan moving forward for my dogs needs. Edgar & the office staff were thorough & friendly. I can't wait to start the training. 👍

We took our dog for the 2 week bootcamp, training with Edgar. Once she was through bootcamp, my husband and I had a number of sessions with Edgar and our dog so that we could continue and reinforce the training she had received. (This time spent with Edgar and our dog is critical; we needed to learn what she had learned and we have worked with her often since completing bootcamp.) We are thrilled with the changes in her behavior and feel it was worth every penny and the time spent. Her behavior is *much* improved, and we feel we have full control of her now. We would HIGHLY recommend both Top Dog and Edgar, as we could not be more satisfied!

We wish we could give 0 stars. Our 8-month-old dog, Leo, stayed at Top Dog from July 14–28 for boarding and training. We requested training in recall, no jumping, handling distractions, and basic commands in Polish—something we were told they could do but they never used the commands. While there, Leo got a gash on his nose they didn’t tell us about, came home dirty, dehydrated, with bald spots, a rash, and later tested positive for Giardia. We had to disinfect our entire home and yard, and his health issues even caused me to get injured on a walk. Owner Shawn ignored calls, skipped scheduled training sessions, and failed to follow through despite promising to finish Leo’s training. We also learned they use the same leash on all dogs without disinfecting it. The only positive was trainer Jeremy, who was great with Leo. But overall, this was an unsafe, stressful, and disappointing experience. If you love your dog, look elsewhere.

Top Dog is the best when it comes to boarding our baby girl. She is as sweet as pie to her people but doesn’t really like strangers. Typical Akita trait for sure. We can leave her with Top Dog Boarding with knowing she is being well cared for without worrying about her biting someone. The way they have a hands-off but still have loving interactions with her is great! We appreciate all of the workers there! Thank you Top Dog!

If you’re looking for a great place with caring staff to board your pups, look no further! We’ve been using Top Dog for boarding for our eldest pup Denali for a while now and they never disappoint. They are super communicative, send lots of pics, and offer play times for an additional charge up to 2 times a day. Recently, we used their Tempe location. The staff recognized Denali from the other location and were great with our newest pup Rosco. We were nervous about boarding Rosco knowing that he has a harder time in a kennel environment so we maxed play times and asked if we could board both dogs together. He also has been working through some toy resource guarding and the staff was happy to accommodate our dogs particular needs. I don’t know what amazing magic they did but he came back home in high spirits and the resource guarding has diminished significantly! I don’t think the dogs missed us too much while we were gone. ;) Thank you to the Top Dog staff!
