Signed up for puppy 101 class. Signed a contract. Rearranged my work schedule for a month so I could be available at 4:30. Showed up for the first class and it was cancelled for the whole month. No one bothered to contact me. They then tried to convince me I should spend $$ on the level 2 class instead.

If you're looking for dog training, Top Paw K9 is the place to go. Jennifer and John are not only incredibly skilled trainers, but they are truly passionate about what they do. They don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach to training. Instead, they take the time to understand each dog’s individual needs and use a thoughtful, behavioral approach to make sure the training fits that specific dog. We first took our dog Willow to their group training classes when she was only 12 weeks old. Willow needed a little more attention than some of the other dogs, and Jennifer was always willing to answer my questions—even ones that weren’t directly related to what was being covered in class. A few weeks after the group classes ended, we realized Willow needed more focused help than I could provide on my own, so we decided to move forward with their Board and Train program. During that time, Jennifer kept me updated on Willow’s progress and regularly sent videos so we could see how she was doing. We were also able to attend weekly one-on-one training sessions with both Jennifer and John. John was incredibly flexible and worked around our personal schedule, which we really appreciated. Jennifer also took Willow’s training beyond the facility. Willow went on weekly field trips with their group class so she could practice and strengthen her training in real-world environments. What we appreciated most is that they focus just as much on training the owners as they do the dogs. Willow has been home for less than a week, and we are already seeing the difference. We’re beyond happy with the strong foundation Jennifer and John helped build for her—and for us as owners. We highly recommend Top Paw K9 to anyone looking for knowledgeable trainers who truly care about the dogs and the people they work with.

Wow! If you need training for your pup, don’t hesitate. Go straight to Top Paw Academy! We first started our dog Breck in the 5-week training class, which was structured but fun and welcoming. We learned so many foundational skills we didn’t even realize we were missing. Jen sent us videos and instructions after each class so we could continue practicing and succeed at home. But our little monster needed more…. For years he had been aggressive and reactive toward humans, other dogs, and kids. We decided to enroll him in the 4-week board and train behavioral program, and it truly changed our lives! We saw him every week and learned how to strengthen our relationship with him while building his confidence in us and himself! There was an incredibly obvious improvement in his behavior each week. When we brought him home, he was a different dog. Instead of barking and lunging at people and dogs in our apartment complex, he now stays close and looks to us for guidance and reassurance. He is happier, and honestly so are we. We can’t thank Jen and John enough for helping us rebuild our relationship with our dog. Jen has poured her heart into Top Paw Academy, and it shows in everything she does. She and John always went above and beyond to care for Breck, listen to our concerns, answer our questions, and teach us in a way that made sense. We even got to celebrate Breck’s birthday with Top Paw during one of the public outing classes, which made the whole experience even more special. This experience was truly worth every penny! Our lives are significantly better because of Top Paw Academy.

Jen & John are both amazing. I had been following Jen on social media for a few years and I just happened to move to CO from TX. When I was going out of the country for 2 weeks I thought "hmm maybe that top paw k9 place has boarding options". I came to find out they had board and train options that were priced very fairly! I figured while I was gone my pup could learn and get a ton of mental stimulation. Jen and John made a group text with me and kept me updated the whole time and sent lots of videos of my pup training. As I was unsure leaving my pup alone with strangers, I did a check in before my travel and I was so pleased to see that my pup Mac absolutely loved Jen and John so it put me at ease as well to know he was having fun there and loved the people he was with. Jen also sent me a ton of breakdowns about the training and the psychology behind is. Literally got Mac back 3 days ago and everyday the results have shown! Mac's off leash recall is basically perfect, leash walking is fantastic and he even knows some new commands! Couldn't have asked for better results and I truly highly recommend them for anyone who wants/needs dog training!

Jen and John at Top Paw K9 Academy are absolutely incredible!! I brought in my 9 month old puppy Haku for their board and train program and it was life changing for me and our puppy! Not only are they amazing, kind, down to earth people who love dogs, they genuinely love what they do and it is evident! Before Haku went through their program he wasn’t able to regulate his emotions and everything was overly excited to him. Every dog we would see he would want to say hi and didn’t know how to regulate his excited emotions so it would turn into barking, lunging, pulling and chaos every time we would see other dogs. Jen and John spent time understanding why he was reacting that way and helped him learn how to regulate those big emotions! Not only did they teach him but taught us exactly what he was learning and how to do each thing he has learned! They reached out with detailed instructions and then we met with him once a week while he was there to put those instructions together in person! With their help we can now walk past dogs, squirrels, and any other exciting things with little to no reaction and if he needs extra guidance we know exactly what to do! We are so happy that we found Top Paw and will continue to go back!

We had an absolutely phenomenal experience with Top Paw K9 Academy! Our German Shepherd mix was incredibly reactive and John and Jen stepped in with a structured guidance that went far and above. This team truly understands dog behavior on a deep, professional level — not just training commands, but teaching dogs (and owners) how to communicate and build trust. John and Jen were outstanding and supportive at every step of our journey. They took the time to understand our dog’s personality, our concerns, and our goals, and then built a training plan that felt tailored specifically to us. The transformation in our dog has been remarkable. It’s a night and day improvement in leash behavior, reactivity, focus, and overall confidence. Walks are no longer stressful, home is peaceful again and we feel like we truly have a partnership with our dog now instead of constantly managing behavior. Top Paw K9 Academy doesn’t just train dogs — they change the relationship between you and your dog for the better!
