I visited Total Wine on December 24, 2025. I am 21 years old and was accompanied by my 18-year-old brother, who was simply tagging along with me while we finished last-minute Christmas shopping. My father had asked me to purchase two bottles of tequila as a gift for my grandfather. When I reached the register, I was informed that the sale could not be completed. While I understand that the store may have policies regarding alcohol purchases, the way the situation was handled was extremely upsetting. The manager spoke to me in a very rude and dismissive manner, to the point that I became visibly emotional and began crying. I felt embarrassed and humiliated in front of other customers. I fully respect store policies and would have accepted the refusal if it had been communicated respectfully. Unfortunately, the interaction made me feel degraded rather than simply informed. As a result, my grandfather will not be receiving his Christmas gift this year, which has been heartbreaking for me. I am 21 and was purchasing the alcohol as a gift, not for my brother. I had read the posted signage and believed that as long as the purchaser was of legal age, the transaction would be allowed. While I now understand that the policy may be stricter than I realized, I wish the situation had been handled with basic courtesy and kindness.

Total Wine & More is easily one of my favorite places to shop for wine, the selection is huge, the store is clean and well organized, and it’s simple to find both everyday picks and special bottles. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to offer great recommendations without being pushy. I also appreciate the variety of tastings and helpful signage that makes browsing really enjoyable. Whether I’m stocking up for home, choosing a gift, or exploring new wines, this store always delivers a great experience.

The store near the 16th st and camelback rd has a better variety of congacs and scotch as well as tequila. We're think ourselves pretty progressive, but the employee with pink hair was visually jarring to say the least... my wife even mentioned it a couple days later. She didnt realize he had pink hair until I mentioned it, it was the least jarring part of him to be completely honest.
