Clearly the employees hate their job. This is my 2nd time here and both times I was just stared at when I walked in. The staff has zero customer service. I looked beyond that and decided to browse and the prices are atrocious, very close to retail! Better off going to Plato’s!
I don't enjoy leaving reviews like this but they are necessary. As consumers, it is important to spend our time and money with businesses that treat their customers with respect and dignity. Several weeks ago, I took a client to this location after organizing and purging his closet. When we walked in, my phone caused the alarm to go off. A young lady looked up from behind the counter and said, "Y'all are stealing already!!?" I was completely taken back. I thought that, perhaps, there was a VERY slim chance that I had misheard her so I asked her to repeat herself. She did so a second time, clearly, and had no shame in doing so. I asked for her name and she said it was EMMA. Had I been alone, I would have exited the store IMMEDIATELY, but I stayed with my client as he completed the selling of his items. I also instructed him to not purchase anything. We left that store and went to the one at Huebner Oaks, where the staff are ALWAYS professional, friendly, and treat customers with respect. This goes for the owners as well, who I have had several interactions with. I reached out to the Alamo Ranch location by phone and through their social media several times and got the runaround when asking for the owner's information. After being told on the phone to reach out through social media I did. And I was basically told (repeatedly) to "call the store". My request was simple: an email address to email the owner and/or manager. No one was cooperative in providing this information. I know for a fact that Emma's comment would not have been made had my client and I had been of another racial demographic. Please be advised, if you shop at this store, that this is apparently "no big deal,". I will not return to this location again. EDIT/UPDATE 01/06/2026: I see that the store has responded to my review. Not only is the response lackluster and insufficient, I absolutely WILL NOT "call the store" to discuss this issue further. As I mentioned previously, I have already done so several times. I don't beg people to take my money, nor plead to be treated with respect. I simply withdraw my energy (time, money, attention, etc). I also see that their initial reply has been edited. I NEVER received any text communication from this store. I stand firm in my decision to not support this business and I hope that - after reading this - people act accordingly.
Lovely staff all super welcoming and friendly. Lots of diversity in the staff, spoke to the manager who was Mexican and she helped my grandma pick something out who only speaks Spanish got nothing but good vibes from these people definitely not racist and they love Mexicans. The store owner and the leading manager are Mexican and are such fun people to be around.
Amazing store!!! I was welcomed right when i came in and the employees greeted me. The clothes are also great in terms of size and fashion. They have many types of shirts that are trendy right now and have an affordable price which i prefer ! Their shoes are also affordable while also being very clean. ❤️Will definitely be coming back again!!
Such an amazing store to shop at and sell at. Their clothing section is very well organized as well as their purses and shoes!! As soon as you step in, the employees greet you and assist you on trendy things. The employees are very friendly and polite, if they see that you have too many items they insist on taking them and putting them in a bin to hold until you’re ready to try on/buy. Everything is affordable and the prices are reasonable. Will most definitely keep coming back!!!best thrift store in San Antonio!!!!
