Probably the worst and most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a kennel. The manager Cary wanted to force extra cost and additional hoops for me to be allowed to even give them business. When I finally offered to try and play her game she then stated she no longer wanted to deal with me or my dogs and refused to provide service. This was all done through her employees has she lacked the professionalism to even speak with me herself and only communicated all of this through her employees. Who told me quote .. we already have enough clients we dont need you or your business... I would be very wary of this business and their manager, if they treat a customer this way I can only imagine how they will treat a pet behind closed doors. 0 stars shameful, unprofessional, pathetic...

Now requiring overnight test stays even on dogs previously serviced and then non accomodating times to boot to meet that demand. May be time to start looking at other options that are more customer friendly.

Best place I’ve ever left my dogs. Would 10/10 return again. Could not be happier with the service, ownership, and how they treated my little kiddos. Doug and his family are wonderful!

After some thought on my two experiences with Woodmen Kennels I've decided to leave a review for others to read and consider before bringing their dogs here. I own a 1yr F German Shepherd. Her first boarding experience was back in December the weekend following Christmas. I was told she needed to come in first for a "trial" stay to ensure she would do okay. I understood that and I was told she did fine during the few hours she was there and given the okay for her to board there. Jump to the first stay and this time I was told there would be a "holiday surcharge" since it's a highly sought-after time. I've worked for boarding kennels before and have never seen one charge extra just for the holiday season so I should've seen that as the first red flag. I didn't feel like bringing up the issue since it was too late to find another kennel so I just paid what I owed. My dog eats a meal in the morning and at night. For this first stay I was not quoted any extra charges beyond the boarding fee per night. Keep this in mind because it becomes an issue later. Her stay was supposed to be for three days but our trip got cut short and we ended up returning after 24 hours and was told uon pickup that our dog needed "professional training" because she was not socialized?! Our puppy has never been boarded before, so obviously she was nervous in the new environment but to tell us she needed training was a little drastic. Now the most recent stay was for a 9 days & I dropped off the Friday before we left the state. When making the reservation, I was quoted $270 for her stay ($30x9 days). When dropping off the girl at the front confirmed she would be getting AM & PM feedings per her last one-night stay. She NEVER said anything about any extra charges and I confirmed when we would be picking up. I called to check in on Monday and was told by a female that answered the phone that the girl on Friday had noted that our puppy was jumping up on staff and would not be allowed to board again after this visit until she received "professional training". I was appalled! For one, she's still a puppy and 90% of puppies and dogs in general jump up when they're excited. BIG red flag there! Fast forward to pick-up day and now suddenly my total is $310?! I told the same girl who was there when I dropped off that I was quoted $270 over the phone when I booked. She stated that it was for the boarding and there was an additional charge per day for doing a second feeding. When I told the girl I had NEVER been explained that she stated very rudely yes I had per the notes. I told her the only thing that was ever discussed was the no blankets rule for my dog and that she gets two feedings again NEVER ANY MENTION about an additional charge. At this point I was livid. When I asked to see the notes on my dog during her stay she just read them off to me and stated it said she was skittish and didn't want to approach anyone. ANOTHER RED FLAG! Now the "notes" don't match with what I was told over the phone on Monday. I explained that to the girl and she blamed it on the "new girl" stating she probably misunderstood the notes. Bunch of BS if I ever heard! How could you get that mixed up seriously?! All in all, a rude front desk experience, misleading information, falsifying kennel records & notes, and very clear money-grabbing, so I would NOT recommend this kennel.

We have been boarding our golden doodle here for a few years. They are always so friendly and loving toward him and when I pick him up, they provide details of how he eats and plays and comment that they give him extra cuddles and attention. I really like that their kennels are so long and indoor/outdoor and that they have different play options.
