I've ALWAYS said 40 South has the BEST vintage in Boston-and an impressively extensive mens collection (which is hard to find). I myself am glad to also indulge in the ladies section-and a caftan or two from 40 South is part of my Summer and vacation wardrobe! SO glad to have an old school vintage shop in town. ON, and di I mention the mens vest collection?!?!?!? Get them while they're hot!
A perfect vintage clothing store! You will find legitimate vintage attire in great condition here as well as incredible deals on the 20% off rack! Wonderfully priced overall and the curation is tasteful, plenty of options for all genders and oftentimes really fun vintage baby/kid clothing! Don’t forget to look through the jewelry section that has some vintage, and some locally made! Support small businesses!!
Best Vintage Store In Boston. Super fun and affordable inventory and always having sales! I was a customer of the previous owner and worked here for years before Hilken took it over and you cannot find a more honest and hardworking small business owner in New England. I dare you to try. MUST VISIT for true vintage heads dudes, dads and gender nonconforming folks alike!
Owned and operated by a local legend, this small, bespoke vintage boutique is a must visit for anyone who understands the timelessness of innate style, and the vital importance self expression, and for those who traffic in the empowerment of women. Every item handpicked and vetted for quality (i still have shirts i bought there more than a decade ago) and style. It's sounds cliché but its not when I say that 40 South is a local institution that also happens to best vintage shop in Greater Boston.
I absolutely love this place. It’s so well curated, everything in the shop appears to be carefully hand selected by the owner Hilken - and she has an incredible sense of style herself! I highly recommend following them on Instagram, as their posts will probably inspire you to drop in from time to time. It’s also so great to have a passionate small business still thriving in Jamaica Plain - we need more businesses like this!
