I went here to get a birthday present for my dad. He was a huge Silver Surfer fan back in the day, so I wanted to get him a Silver Surfer comic in an older style he'd be familiar with. They had exactly what I wanted, and the staff even leveraged their extensive comic book knowledge to convince me to buy a comic for myself as well. I'd definitely buy from them again.
I tell literally anyone who asks, and quite a few who don't, that this is the best comic store in the state of NC. I've even rather boldly claimed it's the best comic store south of NYC, and I only don't claim it's the best on the East coast because I haven't been across the entire East coast. The staff are incredibly helpful and know more than anyone could possibly need to ask about, and you will not find a wider or more well-kept selection of merchandise anywhere else. I'd live here if I could man. 10/5 stars, I literally experienced my earliest memory in this building. Thanks for puttin' me onto Starman, Jermaine. It was a hell of a read.
My children & grandchildren love this place. It’s nice & clean. It brings back all memories of my cartoon and some of the character characters. I have not thought about in a while. And their music is on point. When the youth save up their own money & willing to spend it comic books, you know this store is gonna be in business for a long time. Now I know part of our day hanging out with my grandchild come to visit will be here. I hope they read this and put a chair and table in there for us all the folks to sit down. The music was very enjoyable. But I didn’t see any Archie and Veronica comic books. But I didn’t ask I will next time.
Amazing! Loved it! My cousin was visiting North Carolina from California and he drove 3 hours from Wilmington, NC just to visit this comic book store and meet the awesome owner, Jermaine Exum! He said it was definitely worth it. It definitely lived up to the hype. Very well organized and maintained store. My cousin loved it and so did I! Thanks Jermaine, I look forward to stopping by again in the future. Keep up the great work! Your customer service and knowledge are top tier!
I was killing time and stopped in Acme Comics to fulfill my curiosity because I'd never been inside a comic book store before. Jermaine was super friendly and informative. Let me tell you, this store did not disappoint. From new comics to vintage and everything in between, there was nothing lacking in this space! My mom said it reminded her of when she could go to the store and by 12 cent comics. Jermaine shared that the store had been there for 40 years! It was cool to know that I'd been able to patronize such an establishment! I hope they continue to thrive for 40 more.
