Garrett is awesome! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and thoughtful guy. Lessons are just the right blend of technique and music theory for me, and I'm having more fun on guitar now than I've had in years.
I have been taking bass lessons from Garrett for over a year now and I can't believe how far I've come! The professional quality of his teaching reflects his academic education and decades of experience playing the instrument. Whether it is playing a very technical piece, navigating difficult chord changes, or working on time and tone, he always finds the right exercises to advance my skills. I appreciate that Garrett routinely takes his time to find out what my goals are so that he can come up with a game plan for how to achieve them. Overall, I have had a great experience so far and I can highly recommend scheduling a lesson with him!
Garrett is simply the best. Our son started guitar during the pandemic. A dark time made brighter by finding Garrett. We wanted to encourage creativity but expand his knowledge of music and its forms. Under Garrett’s tutelage, our son’s skills have improved but, more importantly, he developed a love for the expression musicianship affords him. We speak often of the good fortune we had in connecting with Garrett. He is not only an incredibly knowledgeable instructor but a kind and inspiring person. The best around!
Garrett is the best! We started my 6 year old in piano lessons unsure of how he would respond and not only did he pick up the instrument, he really enjoyed himself along the way. Garrett was super warm and welcoming and had a natural knack for engaging and teaching my son. He was able to keep him excited and motivated week after week. We're on a short summer hiatus but will definitely be back! Highly recommend Garrett!
Garrett is a fantastic instructor. No matter what your skill level is currently Alberta Street Music School will help you achieve your goals. I love how I can schedule my own lessons whenever is convenient and how flexible Garrett really is with his schedule. The music studio is so cool and inviting. He even offers me coffee or tea at the beginning of the lesson which is awesome. Hands down the best place I’ve ever taken lessons from and highly recommend Alberta Street Music to anyone who’s interested.
