I’ve been going to Alliance de San Francisco for years and I’m happy to be a member. The many events are a great opportunity to practice French and learn more about French culture and civilization. Cindy is always a joy to see too!
MY. EXPERIENCE WAS VERY USEFUL-AS I TOOK ALL ADVANCE CLASSES I AM NOW FLUENT IN FRENCH- WHEN IN FRANCE I WAS COMPLETELY ABLE TO CONVERSE WITH. ANYONE-WHILE I COULD AFFORD A LONGUE SEJOUR IN PARIS IN A CHEAP HOTEL I actually started to THINK IN FRENCHAND I STILL DO-SOMETIMES STUFF HAPPENS OR TEMPS A TEMPS CERTAIN CHOSES. DO OCCUR PLEASE GIVE THEM ANOTHER SHOT IF YOU CAN-THOSE COMPUTER COURSES ARE BULLSHIT-YOU MUST SPEAK ANY NEW LANGUAGE TO A REAL PERSON TO LEARN HOW IT IS DONE!!! I've been taking classes at the Alliance Française for a little over two years now, and have very much enjoyed the variety of classes and activities that they host. Starting as a complete beginner, they've helped me achieve a B1 level & certification. I highly recommend giving them a try, as they offer both in-person and online classes to accommodate your schedule. Sylouan & Leila have been two of my favorite instructors - bringing lots of fun and encouragement to the classrooms. If you're on the edge of deciding - just do it! Don't be shy, just take a class, it's also a great way to meet new people from around the Bay Area.
My husband and I have loved both the classes and cultural events at AF SF, especially the French film series. I took intermediate conversation with Sylouan and book discussion with Leila - highly recommend both.
It is easy to recommend the classes at the Alliance Française de San Francisco as they are high quality, enriching, and fun. Plus, I can take the classes from where I live in Texas. My teachers aim to keep as much as possible of the class in French, which can be challenging at times, but is certainly the optimal learning experience. Additional material is provided between classes through emails and an online system, providing exercises which review and amplify the class presentations. The other students are also enjoyable and have positive attitudes. The administrative staff as well as the teachers are agreeable and dedicated to helping us learn the French language. Other French learning and culture events are available at the Alliance Française de San Francisco, which can be explored by students and others.
