My 12 yr old dog had severe diarrhea for a week. I took her to a vet in Mesa and afterward she started going downhill fast. My daughter got her an appointment at this animal hospital right away. They listened to my concerns, looked over the current treatment plan and then proceeded to test for Parvo and take X-rays to see if she had a blockage. She was given fluids for dehydration and prescribed antibiotics and a dewormer. Also an appetite stimulant to get her to eat again. I began to see improvement after the 2nd dose of antibiotics. By day two she is eating and drinking water and slowly recovering. I was doubtful she was going to pull through as she had dropped 5 pounds in 3 days. I was told I could bring her back on Saturday to learn how to administer IV fluids at home. But I felt she had improved enough to make it through the weekend. I am so grateful for the staff at this clinic for being so thorough and gentle with my fur baby. They went over costs with me and were honest about treatments. They did not try to sell me stuff I didn’t need. I am so thankful for the medical professionals at this hospital. Even though the costs were significant, I got results this time and the answers I needed to move forwsrd.
We brought in our 5 month old golden retriever suspected to have chewed and swallowed foam. The day prior she was taken to AVECC where she was given fluids and nausea meds that did NOT help her symptoms of not eating/drinking, discomfort & no bowel movements. We scheduled a follow up here at our normal vet. They were made aware of all of this, performed scans to check her belly which, only after charging us, did they say foam wouldn’t show up… But of course, told there’s another test they could do to check for blockage that cost the same (why not do that to begin with). We decided to pass after being reassured her discomfort was just gas and that she would get better with again fluids & nausea meds (that didn’t help the first time). Less than 12 hours later, symptoms worsened, we called back to learn even though we were just there, we would be charged AGAIN for an emergency appointment if we wanted her seen. Unfortunately during that phone call our sweet puppy’s intestine ruptured and she passed away… immediately in the same phone call, we were offered cremation prices & told they close in a half hour so we would need to figure it out now. 2 stars because ‘sure’ they performed job of a veterinary office…but not 5 because it felt like an inconsiderate money grab where you were sweet talked into dumb things they could charge you for.
I absolutely LOVE this vet! I rescued a little 7 week old kitten on a Saturday and brought her here the following Tuesday. The online booking made the process super easy, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They answer my questions via email very quickly. Dr. Stickland is very knowledgeable, and I greatly appreciate that she spent the time in the room with us answering any and all questions we had. The facility is super clean and easy to find. I highly recommend the animal medical center of Chandler to all pet owners!
Javier, Dr. Montero, and Brenna were all fabulous! Thank you for helping check up on our kitties!!! They walked us through everything and were very patient with our shy cats.
We can’t say enough about how incredible Dr Andrea Stickland/ Dr Nathan Goodwin (aka Dr Good Hair) and the team at Animal Medical Center of Chandler are! Not only are they outstanding veterinarians, but also truly wonderful people who care deeply for both pets and their owners. As pet parents/patients, I’ve seen firsthand the passion, dedication, and expertise they bring to every patient. A few experiences that stand out were when my pets had sudden health scares. We were a bit panicked, but they immediately reassured us, fit us in right away, and handled everything with such care and professionalism. They took the time to explain what was happening, went over all our options, and made sure all our fur babies (and us) were as comfortable as possible throughout the process. Thanks to their quick action and expert treatment, our fur babies made a full recovery, and we will always be grateful for that. Beyond being incredibly knowledgeable, Dr Andrea Stickland and Dr Nathan Goodwin (Dr Good Hair) have hearts of gold. The way they treat every animal with kindness, patience, and genuine love is truly special. The entire team at Animal Medical Center of Chandler is just as fantastic, making each visit a positive experience. Special shoutout to Jordan who quickly responds via texts from the main line! If you’re looking for vets who treat your pets like family, look no further than Animal Medical Center of Chandler. We wouldn’t trust anyone else with our beloved pups. Highly recommend!
