Lu is the real deal. Hugely knowledgeable across a wide range of mediums including a variety of digital programs. If you have a goal artistically Lu really tries to find a way to get you there. Her back ground story is fascinating and gives her enormous credibility.
I have been one of Lu's students for four years and would recommend her classes without hesitation. Lu's classes cater for all levels of experience and style. As an beginner, Lu guides you through a set of technical exercises with accompanying notes and instruction, but also encourages you to develop your own style and instinct through practice and patience. Classes are run at students' own pace, with each student working on their own project over the course of the term. Lu has a wide-ranging knowledge of art techniques, materials and styles. She gets to know her students and their strengths, and helps them to develop their confidence and artistic intuition. Lu's classes are informal and welcoming, in a spacious and well-equipped studio, set in peaceful surroundings. Having not picked up a pencil or paintbrush since my school days, l have, with Lu's help, been able to develop my skills enough to feel confident in submitting my work to local art shows, and have even won a couple of prizes! Un lugar increíble para aprender y Lu es una artista y profesora extremadamente talentosa. Genial para todas las edades. Estudiantes desde los 8 años hasta cualquier edad para probar algo distinto. La enseñanza puede ser estructurada o a tu propio ritmo, lo cual me vino bien ya que quería probarlo todo. Lo recomendaría encarecidamente.
Lu tiene una gran forma de enseñar, trabajando distintas técnicas cada semana. Ella permite que los niños dibujen lo que quieran, mientras enseña y mejora sus habilidades, o sugiere ideas para aquellos que no están tan seguros. He notado que es muy observadora de los intereses de cada niño y se adapta a ellos. El estudio es un lugar encantador, con grandes ventanales, asientos cómodos y muy tranquilo.
