I've taken classes with Bea Alexander Pilates for over a decade. I started with Bea after I had injured my back, and being hypermobile I had difficulty recovering fully. Bea and her other teachers (including Gill and Katy) excellent classes helped me get my back sorted and it's never bothered me since. I attended pregnancy and post-natal Pilates (both of which were extremely helpful) and have continued to attend classes both in person and online since. I can't recommend this studio enough.
II can not recommend Bea Alexander Pilates highly enough. I have been a student of Bea's for well over a decade. Pilates was recommended to me by a physiotherapist who was treating me for a running injury. She believed that a strong core, developed through Pilates, was essential to prevent injury. Since finding Bea and her team, I have not looked back. I started out by attending one Pilates session a week but several years ago I added Gill's Yoga/Pilates Fusion class. Pilates has made a profound difference to how my body moves and feels. Pilates has given my greater understanding of my body and why it is important is to take the time to work on both my strength and flexibility. It is no exaggeration to say that Bea Alexander Pilates has been life transforming. Bea, Gill, and Katy are all knowledgeable and highly experienced instructors yet, what is so crucial to their teaching is that they genuinely care about their students. Bea takes the time to explain how our bodies work and why a particular move is beneficial. During class, alternative positions are offered for those of us who may been injured or have other issues with their bodies. I look forward to my weekly classes as an important way of maintaining my overall health.
I have attended Bea's mat classes for many years and found Bea and her colleagues to be knowledgeable and professional. Bea creates a welcoming, inclusive and fun environment in the studio and tailors classes to the individual's needs. I would highly recommend Bea Alexander Pilates mat classes regardless of fitness levels, size, flexibility or any other issues.
I've been attending Bea Alexander pilates classes for nearly 10 years now. The classes are always stimulating, energizing and challenging and all the teachers are great! I particularly like the term-long classes which progress in difficulty as the weeks go by. I also really like the ability to 'make up' classes you may have missed. I would absolutely recommend classes by Bea and her team to anyone - from absolute beginners to seasoned campaigners!
I have attended the classes with Bea consistently for around ten years, rarely missing one. I started going to help myself recover from a stress and grief related emotional and physical collapse, and fairly quickly I found that the discipline of attending and doing the exercises began to strengthen both my body and my psyche. Over the years I have progressed at my own pace through the different levels and the weekly class has become an important element of my self maintenance and development. A large part of this process has been the care, commitment, integrity and teaching knowledge and skills of Bea and her very capable colleagues, particularly Gill. I strongly recommend Bea's classes.....
