Blue Pearl has been here for me and my sweet kitty boy, Charlie, for a rough couple of weeks. He experienced a urinary blockage on Christmas day of all days. I have never been so grateful for a 24/7 pet hospital. Urinary blockages are fatal in cats, in as soon as 48-72 hours. This was a serious emergency. He got unblocked but unfortunately blocked again about a week and a half later. I elected to get him a perineal urethrostomy rather than rinse and repeat unblocking him and putting him through the stress of traveling to the vet over and over again. They let me come and visit him during his 2 day hospitalization, which meant so much to me. He's very skittish with strangers and strange places, and my presence got him to eat and purr for the first time since admitting him. While going through all of this has been an absolute nightmare combined with my current personal life (and, admittedly, expensive), I am beyond thrilled that I get to hang out at home with him and help him recover instead of having to start a new year without him. He's young and recovering very well. I have been up all hours of the night every night following his 8-hour medication administration schedule, and Blue Pearl staff has been available to take my call at 2, 3, and 4am on many occasions. I feel so secure that there are answers for me the moment I have questions. They helped me refill his pain medication when we ran out and he still was noticably in pain. I wasn't sure about this place after my first visit the first day, but they have shown up for me time and again. I trust Blue Pearl with my pets' lives.
I unfortunately found my sweet baby deceased on the 28th of December and still rushed him to the vet hoping I was wrong. Everyone was so kind, caring, respectful and supportive. I was/am a mess and miss my baby. I was not rushed, they ran out to meet me and responded quickly and effectively even though I was not able to call ahead of time. Thank you for your hard work I can’t imagine the emotional toll this job must take
We had to bring in our 14yr old Kelpie because she suddenly collapsed, had labored breathing and bloody discharge coming out of her nose. She had some issues the day after Christmas, but the vet clinics were closed and she didn't seem to be in an emergent situation since she was drinking (a bit much, actually), eating (not much, but eating), and evacuating normally (if not urinating frequently), but she was stable... until she wasn't. I called ahead and when we arrived, they were ready with triage and took care of her right away. They were SO kind and sensitive when we received the devastating diagnosis of metastatic cancer and internal bleeding. We had no idea. Our vet had no idea. The staff were so accommodating and let us spend as much time with our baby as we needed until the end and helped us make final arrangements. For everything they did, I can say the cost was fair and they accepted Care Credit, which helped ease the financial burden. I would recommend them 100% for emergency services for your fur babies. We are devastated, but they really helped us through the process.
Blue Pearl did an excellent job in helping take care of a very small kitten I found who was experiencing anal protrusion. Drove from Laredo to San Antonio and they took care of him same day. Arrived at 5pm and left by 11:30pm after a successful assessment and surgery.
No one ever wants to come to an emergency pet hospital. If you do have to go to one, you want to make sure it's one that you can trust. My dog, Bailey, was injured, and I came to BluePearl. They were so compassionate, so concerned, and truly took the time to put me at ease and ensure Bailey had the best possible diagnostics and treatment plan. Bailey is fortunate that Dr. Kristin White was available to see him, as she was terrific. Additionally, at the front desk, Kierstyn assisted with our check-in and check-out. The front desk staff are often not recognized for the imports that they bring to the organization. They are the first contact with the customer. Just like Dr White, Kierstyn put us at ease with a calm, compassionate, and professional tone. Thank you all for taking such great care of my Baily!
