I've been to this location several times now. I always find some gems and never leave empty-handed. They have a massive selection and variety of subject matter. My two complaints would be that they tend to be stingy with book trade-ins (they typically take less than 1/4 of the books I bring in and low-ball prices for what I know to be valuable items) and, the flip side of the coin, their prices for books they're selling tend to be on the high side.
Great used bookstore. Buy ,sell, trade! Its been around for years glad to see it's still popular. Lots of board games, vintage video games , gaming equipment, electronics , musical instruments and of course great selection of used books. Fun place!
I finally went to In-N-Out Burger, having survived the Great Depression, polio, and several wars, only to discover that the pinnacle of modern culinary achievement is a hamburger wrapped like it’s in witness protection. The menu is refreshingly short, which is good because my eyes stopped cooperating around the Nixon administration. I appreciate being asked if I want my food “Animal Style,” as I’ve always wanted my dinner to sound like a misdemeanor. The burger itself was… adequate. A competent sandwich. The kind of thing you eat and think, “Yes, this is food.” Everyone around me was behaving as though they were experiencing a spiritual awakening, which was impressive considering it was a cheeseburger and not, say, the Second Coming. The fries were clearly hand-cut, presumably by someone who has never actually met a potato in real life, and then cooked just long enough to become philosophically soft but emotionally distant. The staff was relentlessly cheerful, which at my age feels vaguely threatening. Everyone kept smiling and saying “Have a great day,” as if they were personally invested in my remaining years. In summary, In-N-Out Burger is a perfectly fine place to eat if you enjoy waiting in line for 30 minutes to be reminded that enthusiasm is not a seasoning. I will not be back, but I will absolutely complain about it to anyone who didn’t ask.
The best selection of books in Southern Arizona. Prices fluctuated. I found a new Robert Greene book on Amazon for $12. They wanted $13 for a used book. There was another new Robert Greene book for $28 in the store. Amazon had it new for $8. The staff were friendly depending on your political views. If you wear Republican gear in there the staff will glare at you because their views are pretty obvious. It’s sad that political views dictate service.
The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, even when it comes to obscure books. Besides all the books, they sell, they have a large selection of puzzles and musical instruments, and a "gallery" that features nice quality items.
