Excellent food and service. The Argentinian Clam Chowder was absolutely amazing. Also had the picanha and a side of Brussels sprouts. Both were perfectly done. Our waiter was also pleasant, helpful, and attentive. This is a great spot to eat.
I made a reservation at Butcher and Barrel specifically for one person, hoping for a smooth and comfortable dining experience. When I arrived, the host seated me at a very tall four-seat table. Since I was dining alone, I politely asked if I could have a lower table with fewer chairs. Unfortunately, the request didn’t seem well received. The host told me they were “overbooked” and suggested moving me to a back room instead. I didn’t want to argue, so I agreed. However, when we went to the back room, it was completely empty there were no other guests. While the back room was quiet, which I didn’t mind, I was disappointed by the interaction. The main reason I made a reservation and clearly noted it was just for one person was to avoid this kind of awkward experience. The food and atmosphere may be enjoyable, but the initial hospitality and how a simple seating request was handled could be improved, especially for solo diners.
Fantastic meal & Fantastic service on a very busy Christmas eve! Food was cooked to perfection exactly as requested, med rare. Prices are a bit high. Your in the middle of the city, getting a quality experience. Worth the price! A++ There's street parking or a self parking garage 3 min walk past hotel. It's not bad. If your in the area wanting something nice I recommend.
A nice place but overpriced for sure. $300+ for 3 of us with a shared appetizer and dessert and 3 drinks. At this price I would expect white table cloth service and what we experienced was more like Applebee’s service. It wasn’t bad but it certainly didn’t live up to the price. For one, they sat us at a bar table even though we had a reservation a week in advance. Server was slow to greet us and although he was friendly he didn’t really take the time to engage. The Empanada trio was delicious but after clearing the appetizer plates the bus person told us to save our silverware even though we asked if it would be refreshed for our entrees. So we laid our used silverware down on the bare wooden table top for the next course. Yuck! We had the Coulette Pichana steak (which the server couldn’t explain), the Lobster Ravioli and the Short Rib Gnocchi. Everything was delicious although greatly overpriced. Drinks were slow to come to the table when we first arrived. Several dark TVs at the bar led us to believe they didn’t work and took away from making the atmosphere livelier. It’s hard to recommend against this restaurant since the food was so good but we know there are many other options in the area for better value and better service. We dined at The Eagle the next night and absolutely loved it (great food and value).
Pictured is the chicken napoleon, surf & turf, short rib gnocchi, fried deviled eggs, empanada trio, creme brûlée, chocolate cheesecake, and bread pudding with 3 menu cocktails and 3 strawberry lemon lemon drop martinis. Everything was a flavor explosion and well curated flavor profiles. Service was slow but she was very nice and recommended these great options!
