This serene park offers a tranquil escape with its easy walking trail, expansive open field, and scenic river access (no lifeguard). Peacocks freely roam the grounds, adding to the natural beauty. The rustic wooden event hall hosts special occasions, and the small picnic area with a wooden stage is perfect for gatherings. The park is peaceful, clean, and well-maintained, making it an ideal spot to relax. Free entry, free parking! Sidenote: Outside of Camp Pollock, there is a nearby area with homeless, the park itself appeared to be well-maintained and free of any visible issues.
Camp Pollock is a unique gem in the center of Sacramento. Probably one of the only pieces of private property in the region that's open to the public, and with river access. The old Boy Scout lodge is available to rent for private events, nested within beautiful oaks, and natural habitat, it provides all the essentials for any occasion. With 11 acres of property there's plenty of open space for even the largest of gatherings, and casual exploration. You should visit.
The grounds seem to be kept well and it was a nice place to walk around. However, there was a crazy power tripping city worker. She said I wasn't allowed to take pictures in the park. Like what it is a public park she said it was because she didn't want my friends and I coming back to mess with the animals. That was just rude and presumptuous I would never hurt an animal. She needs to get a grip. I told her it was a public space and she said I shouldn't be there. Pretty park staff is terrible. Someone should talk to the lady that feeds the animals and tell her people can take pictures in public places. It say it is a public park.
Great piece river front land that has been in the hands of either Scouts or County hands for over 100 years. From peacocks, turkeys, magpies, roosters, river otters and fish. My son and I had a great time. Tim, the staff person there is very knowledgeable about the history, fauna and land. Doesn't feel like I am in downtown Sacto
I stumbled upon this place when i was walking along the highway. A guy on a squidward bike told me the area flooded, so i think that's the reason all the gates were busted open, and everything looked abandoned. Saw a dude with two dogs flying a drone, the rest was soo desolate, the world might aswell revolve around that one man.
