My insurance (allstate) made an appointment for an estimate here after an accident, and I wish I'd never gone. The communication was awful; it ended up taking around three weeks between when I initially took it in for an estimate and when I could finally take the car in to get fixed, and when I finally did it wasn't because they had finally provided an estimate. After weeks of not being able to get a straight answer and being dismissed and hung up on over the phone about when they would send the estimate, they said they just wouldn't provide an estimate till they started work on it. This seems sketchy and if that's the case, why didn't anyone mention when I took it in for the "estimate?" It didn't get much better once the car was actually in the shop. I had to wait another three weeks, and when I got it back, they had fixed the headlight casing, but it still didn't function, they had somehow splattered paint on the inside of the windshield, and there was a dirty comb in the middle console. I ended up taking it somewhere else to get the headlight actually fixed because it just wasn't worth dealing with chilton anymore. If you need a good mechanic who's communicative, friendly, does good work, and doesn't overcharge, I recommend I Am Auto Care on High st.
RUN THE OTHER WAY!! I chose this shop via GEICO after my car got vandalized because it had 4.4 Google review stars. Suzee is nice but oblivious, clueless, and not helpful. TDLR: My car interior is black. It was returned powdery white. Asked why, she said “I don’t know”. Refused to clean it other than a too-brief vacuum that I asked for because “we don’t do detailing”. I spent 8 hours this weekend cleaning the inside because the dirt got into every crevice, speaker hole, vent, you name it. There’s a 8 x 2 inch scrape on my door that wasn’t there before, it looks like they “tried” to buff it out and hide it. Also the attached photo? Yeah that’s the “FIXED” side mirror - the new part they used was still broken.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an excellent experience at Chilton Auto Body. From the very beginning, the staff was professional and friendly. They explained the process clearly, kept me updated every step of the way, and delivered on time. The work on my car was flawless—it looks like new again. They also handled all the details with the insurance company, which made things much easier for me. I highly recommend Chilton Auto Body to anyone looking for quality and trustworthy service.
AVOID IF YOU HAVE A TESLA. Upon my initial pickup, the shop left a two-inch gap on my rear bumper and then tried to convince (and essentially gaslight) me that this was “how Teslas are.” They also failed to verify frame integrity and didn’t perform a wheel alignment to ensure the repairs were done properly. At my secondary pickup, they had somehow lost the key to my car. Overall, this has been a frustrating and unprofessional experience from start to finish. If you want your repairs handled correctly and without unnecessary stress, I strongly recommend avoiding this location at all costs.
We chose to do business with this place for the second time because they are the experts when it comes to do the job and outstanding customer service. Our truck looks brand new, they were quick and kept me well informed throughout the process of the work done, I didn’t have to even worry about taking my rental back to enterprise, I’m very satisfied with the quality of service and work done to my truck.
