Absolutely breathtaking. Circolo Popolare is easily one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever stepped foot in. The atmosphere is matched only by the food—the pizza was hands down the best I’ve ever eaten. Every cocktail was crafted to perfection, and the service was truly top-notch. I honestly wish I could give them more than 5 stars. An unforgettable experience!
what a mess! Absolutely awful experience, after hearing amazing reviews from friends and family my girlfriend decided to book me in here for my birthday meal. She booked for 21:45 and stated in the booking that it was for a birthday we went on Saturday the 24/01/2025. It took us 15 minutes over the booking time to be seated but if we would have arrived late by even 10 minutes we would have lost our table, after being seated it took us 40 minutes to get a drink! There was no drinks menu on the table, and our server although he was very lovely he was clearly rushed off of his feet, he said multiple times that he would be with us in a moment. When we finally got our drinks (water for the table and a bottle of house white wine) we only had one glass put on the table for water because our server was rushing around singing happy birthday to multiple tables, grabbing drinks and food, so we were left without even the bare minimum. Our starters - focaccia with ricotta and garlic, Parma ham, and the pulled pork croquettes- came within minutes and clearly been sat out in the kitchen, the Parma ham was to be expected but presented extremely poorly for £10. The focaccia was lukewarm at best and the pork croquettes were freezing even in the centre to the extent that I asked the server if they were served cold on purpose, our server felt the pork ball and looked shocked and immediately sent them back. We had our replacement on the table within minutes and they were clearly reheated, the inside was extremely dry when returned as if all of the sauce had dried up in the microwave, we ended up not wanting to eat them as reheated pork is asking for salmonella. We decided to try and be more positive and wait for our pasta, my partner got the lamb ragu pasta and I got the cheese wheel pasta. They both came and my cheese wheel pasta was not as expected and it had never even touched a cheese wheel or any cheese for that matter, I queried this and asked how come it’s not in a cheese wheel and they said it was only in a cheese wheel when it’s for two people, NOT STATED ON THE MENU! And considering you pay £23 per person I don’t have a clue why for a singular person the pasta wouldn’t be up to the same standard. My pasta was just cream, no flavour and extremely watery, I asked if there was anything they could do and I got told to put some pepper on it! I shouldn’t have to put pepper on a £23 pasta at all. My girlfriends pasta was like soup with an extreme lack of pasta that was also hard, we got told it’s meant to be al dente but again nowhere on the menu specifies this. I asked to speak to the manager and the server kept trying to fix the issue without referring it over but I didn’t want to take out my frustrations on the server as for one he was already extremely stressed and two it was clearly not his fault. Anyways I found a manager myself and I got extremely worked up and was in tears as I hate confrontation and how upset I was about my birthday meal being ruined. She expressed her apologies and said they were understaffed which is no excuse for a restaurant of that status and price range. She removed all food off the bill and we paid for the wine which was £45. She asked us to email and set up another date to come back and see what their service is actually like but I wouldn’t even waste time. Also we noticed how we never got asked if we had any allergies until just before they brought out the complimentary birthday tiramisu. Very unprofessional.
Circolo Popolare is honestly an experience, not just a restaurant. The vibes are unreal, lively, warm, and full of energy from the moment you walk in. Every corner feels fun and buzzing, making it perfect for a special night out or a memorable dinner. The food is on another level. The truffle pasta is rich, indulgent, and absolutely packed with flavour, while the crab pasta is fresh, perfectly balanced, and cooked beautifully. And the crispy potatoes… unreal. Everything from the atmosphere to the food just works flawlessly. If you’re looking for incredible Italian food with amazing vibes and dishes you’ll be thinking about long after you leave, this place is a must.
The service staff were all lovely and friendly, and very attentive throughout our meal. They really made my birthday celebrations enjoyable and memorable. The service was excellent and the food was of high quality and served really quickly. There was hardly any waiting time between courses. My family and I will definitely be back to visit again!
Absolutely loved our visit to Circolo Manchester. The interior and atmosphere are unbelievable, so stylish and welcoming. The staff delivered 10/10 service, super friendly and always going the extra mile. Food was fairly priced for the amazing quality. The pulled pork croquettes and rice balls were delicious, the pizza was light, fluffy and full of flavour, and the ragu pasta served family-style was fresh, aromatic and really tasty. Dessert was incredible—the tiramisu and lemon tart are genuinely some of the best you’ll find. Drinks were great too: the local beer was crisp and light, and the Margaritas were strong and excellent. Even the unique plates and restrooms stood out! Highly recommend this place. A brilliant dining experience from start to finish.
