This is such a lovely place. I think it is a common frustration for people that it feels like leaving our homes to have positive interactions in public with others always requires spending money. Everything here is free, but they accept donations, which ironically makes me much more eager to spend money. It is a space that is just oozing with unconditional acceptance, benevolence, and compassion. If you have any curiosity about meditation, Buddhism, or simply want to be in a space outside your home that feels friendly and safe, I highly recommend checking this center out!
This is a wonderful meditation community open to all with both in-person and Zoom meditation practice, practice groups, dharma offered by amazing teachers and retreats. Highly recommend.
A fantastic place to go if you want to find a community and teachers to support your meditation practice. Some of the warmest, kindest people you can find anywhere, very knowledgeable teachers, and it is all 100% funded on donations so you can give it a try for free!
My boyfriend died here. In room 7. On August 10th, and wasn't discovered until August 12th. (36 hours after his death). He had to be cremated instead of buried because of this. There was another death here 20 days later on August 30th. They are also deleting negative reviews. This can be backed up by local police reports in Olmsted county. Check into their licensing and history before you trust yourself or your loved one staying here.
Here’s what you need to know... if you go on Sunday morning, arrive early to get a spot. They close the doors if the room fills up. Small parking lot and street parking available. You’ll need to remove your shoes as you enter. The meditation room is on the main level. The lower level does not have handicap accessibility. The center takes donations of cash and has a kiosk for credit cards as well. The meditation room was arranged with cushions for floor sitting and chairs along the sides of the room. There is water and tea available and time to fellowship afterwards. There is a children’s program as well so kids are welcome. The bulletin boards and newsletter list many other cool programs including yoga and retreats available. I enjoyed the 10:30 session which included guided mindfulness meditation and reflection from the leader. It was a wonderful way to connect with myself and the present moment. Very welcoming and peaceful.
