We were visiting family in town and decided to tag along when my son went with his cousin for a haircut. Chelia did both of the boys’ hair, and she was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. She was so kind, patient, and made my son feel completely comfortable. She really listened to what he wanted and also checked in with me along the way, which I truly appreciated. She did an amazing job on his hair, and he absolutely loved it! Chelia has such a genuine, caring energy, and it really shows in her work. We’ll definitely be coming back to see her next time we’re in town. She’s a great addition to the team. Thanks Chelia for such a great experience! 😊
We’ve had 4 haircuts at this location so far with the first 3 being great but the 4th might unfortunately be our last. We’ve booked online for all of our visits and had expected to have all of our stylists that we chose. This was not the case for the last 2 visits but the emphasis of this review will be about the most recent one. We were scheduled for a 4:30p appointment a week ago with someone who we expected but upon arrival she wasn’t there. We then waited another 15 mins to be seen by someone else who we (my husband and I) felt that she was inexperienced due to the passive nature of how the appointment went. My 1.5 year old son already doesn’t like new strangers and the faster and more efficient the haircut will be, the less traumatic and uncomfortable he will be. Upon seeing the stylist, my son unfortunately started crying and it didn’t help that the stylist had only made one finger cut at a time, took a step behind to wait, and looked at me like I needed to cue her to continue cutting. It’s already hard to manage a wriggling and crying toddler so having to direct a supposedly trained professional is unnecessarily frustrating. The haircut unfortunately turned out uneven and unfinished as the stylist didn’t even indicate if she was going to continue or be done so I decided on the latter due to the unnecessary waiting periods between each cut on my fussy toddler. Overall, I couldn’t tell if it was the stylist’s first day/first haircut job ever/or if there was a language barrier (or even a combination of any of the above) but we will likely start looking elsewhere. This is all due to our recent scheduling to random stylists (without prior notification) when we were scheduled to see a specific one and the disappointment of our most recent stylist’s service (we didn’t bother getting her name as it was too frustrating of an experience to bother).
EDIT: We swung by today after ordering pizza at Lino’s next door. My daughter saw the salon and wanted a cut. So on a whim decided to seize opportunity. Thankfully they worked us into schedule! My daughter wanted an “Elsa cut”, and Ann delivered. My daughter moved throughout the cut, and Ann worked around her with ease. Despite my daughter’s movement, we were still able to get an even cut. My daughter loves her hair. Always a good experience for us at Cookie Cutters! My daughter was well overdue for a hair cut. I’ve been hesitant to cut because she has curly hair, and we’ve had some uneven cuts in the past. She is a bit of a sour patch, so I was pleasantly surprised how well she took to the stylist (I think her name is Taylor). Her stylist was quick, but thorough and complimented throughout. I think her calm, caring demeanor kept her at ease. Her hair looks much healthier and is more manageable. She enjoyed her cut so much, today she said she is ready to get another. We have also been playing hair salon. So A+ to cookie cutters, we will be back (probably sooner than later if it’s up to Savannah).
I am super pleased with my experience here. I took my 19 month old to get his first haircut (got him a mullet) and my expectations were exceeded. Im always nervous about service but Veronica was really amazing, got yourself a new regular :,) im in love with the haircut also
My son is autistic and he has had horrible experiences before with places that supposedly understand how he is. Our experience elsewhere was not the best. When I told the stylist he only wants “comb and scissors” she tried using the buzzer to clean up the back of his neck and he freaked out and kept insisting he needed it. That was NOT the case at Cookie Cutters! When I mentioned he only wanted “comb and scissors”, Miss Taylor flew with it! She was engaged with my son and was able to keep him calm with talking to him, and being playful when needed. No buzzers needed and his cut came out super cute! He was so proud of himself and was probably the calmest he’s ever been! We will be back for sure and will ask for Miss Taylor! I can’t thank her enough!
