I come here pretty much every day to get my three taco set fix whenever I have a study break at Suffolk University. Just looking at the photos I took of my tacos is enough to spark cravings here.
Thank you for the free chips for putting a review. It is for sure the cheapest Mexican food in Back Bay area. The fish tacos are nothing special, the fish itself is tasteless and deep fried. It’s great that people can build their own tacos, burritos and bowls. The place is very busy all the time.
The service here is pretty fast. I had the veg bowl—decent portions and good flavor. It was just a quick 7-minute walk from where I was staying. The space is small, but I actually liked the cozy ambiance—perfect for a casual stop and a quick meal. I'm in Boston for a short office visit, and while exploring the downtown area, I stumbled upon this spot
A nice Mexican themed restaurant, food is delicious, they serve tacos, burritos and bowls. If you’re a lover of spicy food I recommend El Jefe’s. The atmosphere consists of lovely decorations, bright lights and Mexican songs. Wifi was really good. The seating consisted of wooden tables and plastic chairs and the utensils were plastic. They served a bunch of spicy sauces.
Tried this spot with a group of friends. It’s a pretty small space overall, tight quarters, and it felt like there was something or someone in the way no matter where you turned. The line moved quickly, which was nice, but the layout made the whole place feel a bit clogged. There’s not a ton of seating, so don’t expect to dine in comfortably with a group. I ordered the Fajita Bowl, which lets you pick three proteins. I wasn’t that impressed. It was good enough, just not something I’d go out of my way for again. Also, the bathroom situation? TINY!!!. Really hard to get into and barely any room to move once you’re inside. And you need a code to go in. Overall, the food was decent, fast service, maybe clear out the common spaces.
