We had such an amazing experience dining at El Planta. The food was incredible and the staff were all so lovely and attentive! Special mention to Elyse and Rick - thanks for the recommendations and looking after us so well. Honestly some of the best Mexican and Vegan food we’ve had in a long time. Will be back next time we visit Brisbane! 🌮🪴❤️
The vibe and atmosphere at El Planta are really nice and inviting. The prices are a bit on the high side for street food, and the portions are quite small. That said, the food was super tasty and definitely worth trying! The only downside was that the waitstaff seemed a bit rushed, and our table was really sticky, which was a bit off-putting.
It was busy so service was a little slower to start with - only 1 waitress and bartender taking orders, running food and drinks but not overly delayed. Food was yum and appropriately priced for quality/quantity. Waitress was super lovely - comped an alternative dessert for us when our original dessert order was not available. $120 for a starter, a shared plate and 3 sets of 2x tacos, dessert and drinks. 🫓 Tostada 10/10, pickled mushrooms were chefs kiss, highly recommend 🥬 Grilled Cos Lettuce 10/10, sauces and everything else on it was delish 🌮 Birria 8/10, yummy but nothing special 🥗 Zarandeado Grilled Lions Mane 9/10, the mushroom maybe lost a bit of texture from not being compressed during cook but everything together had great flavour 🌮 Pescado (Fish) Tacos and Celeriac Tacos 9/10, all the elements had great flavour, the palmito fillet batter was slightly mushy inside 🍫 Chocolate Mousse 9/10, chocolate was very airy but strong in flavour, probably didn’t need all the other elements because the chocolate overpowers them 🍹 Mocktail Drinks 9/10, refreshing, cheap but nothing wow
I came in early on a Saturday with no reservation and they were able to seat me immediately. I wanted to try everything and despite being a solo dinner, the lovely waitress recommended her favorites! I ended up going with the cauliflower tostada, roasted cabbage, and “fish” tacos! Everything was incredible, as a vegetarian I am not sure I’ve ever had such good cabbage or heart of palm! Everything was so so yummy! The staff were so sweet and accommodating!
What an incredible experience! I ordered one of each taco and the flavors blew me away. Everything tasted so fresh and authentic. I was worried since I arrived only 25 minutes before closing time, but the staff couldn’t have been nicer. They welcomed me warmly and let me sit down to enjoy my meal instead of rushing me out. The food arrived quickly despite the late hour, and honestly, every single taco was perfection. They also have a fantastic drink menu with great options whether you want alcohol or not. The whole place has such a welcoming vibe with tons of seating space. This place definitely earned a repeat customer. Can’t wait to go back!
