Dog Days was so much fun! So peaceful and the garden was well kept! The foliage was an incredible view. Water bowls across the park was really thoughtful. Plenty of parking when I arrived at 11am . Walked the whole garden and it was about 3 miles round trip! The musical swing sets was wonderful to see! Fresh air with remarkable views i truly recommend.
I was excited to finally visit, and with my family in town and my grandma being a big lover of flowers, I was looking forward to bringing them there. We arrived at 2pm and was told that they close at 4pm, so that seemed like enough time to see everything. We were also told about the indoor garden area, so we mentioned that we’ll go there after we see the outdoor garden. Well, I wish the lady at the desk that we were talking to, told us about the indoor garden closing early!!! If we only knew that, then we would’ve started with that and then went to see the outside garden. We got to the indoor garden at 3:30pm and it was closed. What a disappointment!!! I don’t get why they had to close up shop so early when technically, it’s not even at their closing time? They should have a sign outside mentioning that rather than having people wait because we weren’t the only ones, since there were others who were waiting longer than we did and no one that worked there bothered to even tell us until I went over to ask. The outside garden though, was ok, it wasn’t breathtaking or impressive. There were lots of flowers, but also a lot of plants that looked dead or were dying. Definitely a big difference compared to the Dallas Botanical Garden, which I’ve been to several times. It had some nice structures, but I wish there were more plants around that were vibrant and looked alive. Overall, it was an ok visit that ended with disappointment.
I'd rate this as one of the best botanic gardens I've been to, if only for how fantastic the Japanese Garden is by itself. The rest of the garden is lovely as well. The rose garden is small but nice. There's a great viewpoint with the pond and curated garden, and they had decorations for Dia de los Muertos. But the Japanese Garden is the best one I've ever been to across the US. The layout is perfect; the paths are angled and hidden so that even when there are other people around, you can find a quiet corner of solitude. There are huge koi fish in the pond you can sit and watch. I was blown away by how beautiful it all was. If I lived here I would definitely become a member.
A great place to go when you have a family gathering and you want to do some special activities outdoors or just pack a lunch and go sit on the nice big lawn and watch all the beautiful insects go by sometimes butterflies but definitely fall is not the best place here unless you like the Christmas lights for the Christmas light show. I use the gardens when they were in full bloom for weddings in June and I've attached one that I did long time ago but it gives you an idea just how pretty the place is when it's full of color.
We love this place! It’s our favorite place to go on family walks. Right now they have the musical swings which are fun for any age! I love how we can feed the giant fishes and see all the gorgeous plants. Every time we come there is something new to see! This time of year beware you might see some creepy crawlers. Perfect for Halloween! 🕷️🕸️
