What a great dance school! As a guy starting dance lessons in my 50's, I was a bit concerned about what to expect. I'm very fortunate to have found Free House! The instructors are amazing and the community they've built is welcoming and inclusive. My tap class has become more than a weekly lesson, it's a chance to play, connect with new friends, sometimes struggle 🙃, and surprise myself at what my feet can do - huge shout out to the brilliant, fun, and supportive Kira for her instruction! I also want to mention the brilliant Kyrsten and her Musical Theatre class- a fantastically fun class that stretched my somewhat limited abilities (and tendons) If you're thinking that maybe it's time to try something new, or you're experienced and looking to continue your dance journey, I can't recommend Free House enough!
Freehouse has always been a warm and safe place for my daughter to land (and dance of course) as she grows up. Thank you for being a place where she can find out who she is without the pressure and intensity that exists in some other dance schools!
Absolutely love this place! I’ve been attending adult tap 101 for a month, and am having a blast. Kira is amazing and keeps us laughing while we’re learning- it’s a lot easier to learn a new skill when you’re relaxed and having fun. It’s a workout for the brain if you’re new, but that’s so good for you! If you’re on the fence about trying something new, jump in!
It was hard to find a class for our teenager just looking to start dance at a later age. Free House has been an amazing studio for her. Her instructor was so helpful and encouraging. They went to amazing lengths to safely keep up sessions during COVID. Excellent communication. I would (and did) drive across the city for this place. Highly recommend!
Free House dance plus is the best dance studio I've ever found. I've danced for over thirty years in Calgary and this is the number 1 place for adult classes and children's programs for all ages. The teachers are knowledgeable and upbeat, the facility is spacious and clean and the schedule has variety. They even bring in live musicians throughout the term! The positive atmosphere, supportive community and reasonable fees make it easy for me and my family to dance as much as we want!
