A hidden gem in Canberra - the gallery itself is small and the things are mostly small too. You walk down a drive to a small cottage/flat behind the main building in a seemingly normal neighbourhood. An array of lovely things are laid out and you're greeted by Anne. We browsed for a bit and when we were ready to check out, Anne gave us a hint about being able to see a new artwork (Ouroboros) outside the National Gallery before it was officially unveiled. I'm a bit of a shy person so being in a small gallery where you can't blend into a crowd was a bit awkward for me, but Anne was lovely and I felt very welcomed.
What a little gem. Small space ( nice and warm on a chilly winter day) There is a wide variety of media on display for sale. Fabric bags, scarves, glass, painting, prints , earings and ceramics.
Such a beautiful hidden gem! The space may be small, but every piece is thoughtfully curated and full of character. From delicate ceramics to vibrant paintings, there’s a real sense of connection to local and Indigenous artists. The owner was incredibly welcoming and took the time to share the stories behind several works. A peaceful, inspiring place — perfect for picking up a unique gift or just enjoying quiet creativity. Highly recommended if you’re in Watson!
Oh my, how wonderful an experience. The garden itself tells you love lives here. I bought a pair of earrings. My friends other items. I enjoyed the storytelling behind each piece.
Many years ago, I worked for an antiques dealer who said that you needed to ‘understand’ rare things. I understand that in this tiny space is such a big, gracious, creative vision. The works are of such high quality, discernment and charm. A really heart-warming experience.
