Had our quarterly ex work friend’s lunch at GGC today and loved it! All the staff were very polite and very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. I asked to move my booking outside (away from the music, us oldies struggle with the acoustics), not a problem, a very polite young lady cleared a table and looked after us. Interesting and yummy menu, and not your normal brunch type meals. Our food and coffees arrived quickly and the grub was simply, absolutely delicious, and good sized serves too. We traded a few bites and made mental notes of what to have next time. Coffee was hot, smooth and creamy, just yum. Our table was cleared by a very friendly and chatty bloke, who gave us to understand the 5 star approach taken by the chefs, which showed in the delicious, beautifully presented and filling meals. I rebooked us for our next catchup very ably and politely helped by the young lady at the bar. A very comfy and enjoyable space to sit out, enjoy great food, coffee and service, and good company. My new fave Canbrrr cafe, you betcha 🥰
I went to a ticketed event at Gang Gang Cafe (Canberra Jazz Orchestra). This venue wasn't a great fit for the size of event it turned out to be. There wasn't enough seating for everyone who had purchased tickets to sit inside to watch. The line at the bar was very slow moving (though the staff were working really hard and were lovely). The kitchen was only serving pizza and chips, I assume due to the high demand and these were items they could produce quickly. I think the cafe has a lovely atmosphere, it's just not the right venue for an event with a largish number of attendees.
Literally followed Navman to the nearest food place. Great relaxed atmosphere - almost rustic. Food and service friendly and fresh. We are 66 and 73 years old, treated with respect and a smile.
Exceptional venue - it’s a nice big space with an outdoor section. There are booths at the back, small tables in the middle and it’s set up really well for gigs, whether they’re stand up, spoken word or music. Staff are friendly, the typical crowd are friendly Canberrans and the menu is great. Sharing a few shots of their monthly comedy gig - totally worth checking out.
👌 First time coming here, the coffee was great but the food wasn't the best the burger bread was hard, and the plate with the roasted vegetables looks very lonely- adding a small side of salad or chips or SOMETHING would have made it more appealing. In saying that, this was a nice experience and will likely be back. Note that it's card only.
