I’ve never left a review before, but I feel compelled to for Garibaldis. I am a senior at UW and have been dining here for 4 years. The night before I moved into my dorm freshman year, my family needed a place to eat and we ended up here. Amid my freshman nerves, this place (AND THE TACOS AL PASTOR) made Madison feel like home. Now, my family comes as a tradition whenever they are in town, I’ve since hooked my school friends, and will be having my graduation dinner with all my family here in May. The service, the atmosphere, the prices, THE FOOD. All of it is absolutely out of this world. This is a top 3 restaurant ever and I will recommend this place anytime I can. The tacos al pastor are a genuine spiritual experience with explosive flavors. Chips and salsa are served as soon as you sit down, the huge margaritas. If you don’t eat here you are MISSING OUT! Garibaldis is a life changing establishment.
I stopped in for lunch today as someone who is not from the area. Everything was a 10/10 from the service, to all the food and atmosphere. I loved that you can really tell they care about not only the taste of food but also the presentation was beautiful. I got the chicken chimichanga and my boyfriend got the badger burrito. Both were amazing and so was the queso. Would highly recommend trying this restaurant.
Hands down the best Mexican food I’ve had in Madison so far. Super happy to have found a place that I’m excited to try multiple things on the menu. I will definitely be back. Atmosphere was perfect. Food was great. Excited to try the drinks next time. The Garibaldi quesadilla was great btw, and for three proteins, rice beans, and guacamole it is fair priced
Overall they have good food, nice business that’s clean, to include the bathrooms, and service. For being in downtown it was reasonable priced as well.
The salsa and chips were really good. Salsa has a nice kick, queso was good. Nachos were real good and enough for multiple people. Rice with the burrito was bland but the burrito was so good. It was a Sunday so it was super slow. Service didn’t really pay attention so we ended up having to get their attention to get a box & the check. Overall we would definitely come back if in the area.
