DO NOT USE GLASS CITY MOVERS - Damaged Property, Zero Accountability Glass City Movers damaged multiple items and my apartment, and has now completely ghosted me on the claims process. They are unprofessional, careless, and impossible to reach. Careless Handling & Extensive Damages: The movers rushed through the job and were reckless with my belongings: -Dropped a piece of furniture into the apartment wall, causing damage for which I was liable -Dropped several boxes during loading -Damaged 10 different items total Complete Lack of Professionalism -The driver arrived 3 hours late on moving day, keeping hired local movers waiting (who had traveled over an hour and were not paid for their wait time) -They missed the agreed-upon 2-day pickup window entirely and didn't notify me until the afternoon of the second day, forcing me to change my flight at my own expense -Glass City has not answered a single phone call or email throughout this entire process Impossible & Shady Claims Process -Required me to unpack everything before submitting a claim (only one claim allowed) -The claims submission form only allowed one photo despite damage to 10 items -Was told I'd receive a response by January 1st -It's now 20 days past that deadline, with zero communication from Glass City Questionable Payment Practices -Only accept cash or credit card with a 15% processing fee -At pickup and delivery, they had me write my credit card number on paper for the driver to call in—completely insecure and unprofessional Bottom Line: Glass City Movers damaged my belongings and property through careless handling, then made it nearly impossible to file a claim and have since ignored all attempts at contact. They are unresponsive, unprofessional, and unaccountable. Avoid at all costs.
Delmar, and Derrick were Excellent! Very aware, careful, respectful, kind and professional. Excellent and timely communication. I would hire both for my own business. I will request them and Glass City for my next move. Very grateful for these guys for making my move easy and for renewing my faith in quality movers.
I had Donnie & Chris on both my pick up in NY & delivery in Dublin OH. They were EXCELLENT! Professional, on time, efficient, courteous & extremely hard working. I could not have asked for a better experience & my two movers were top notch. Greatly appreciate them.
This company just completed a moved for me (contracted through Interstate) from MN to SC. I’ve used movers multiple times and this was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had starting from pick up. They also overcharged my card by over $100 on delivery from what is listed on the sheet. As finishing unpacking they smashed a good sized chunk out of the wall and didn’t say anything and just hid it with a bookshelf. Pictures are just a small sample of the countless items they broke. They were initially supposed to arrive between 9-11 on day of pickup and kept pushing back the time due to traffic, which would be understandable for a bit of a delay, but they didn’t show up until 2pm and then took 9 hours to load up a 2 bedroom house. I’ve never experienced such a slow pick up and they left for a few hours in the middle and came back and were rude and upset they had to finish the job that day since I had to be out the following day. Stuff was loaded haphazardly in and jammed in with a bunch of other stuff. Now to delivery. I paid an absurd fee to have a guaranteed delivery date since I have two little twins who need cribs. They failed to deliver within the guaranteed delivery date, so the help I had to unpack and assemble cribs was no longer here as they had to fly back. They decided on delivery they wanted to charge another $914 stating it took more room then they thought on the truck, when their first two movers did a walk through and adjustment in MN and raised the price, so I’m supposed to pay almost $1k more for them packing things poorly. I wasn’t able to take photos since they switched trucks a couple times and finally finished when it was pitch black out. Then, when they finally delivered that also was much later then anticipated and you could tell the two movers didn’t want to unload and wanted to push it to the next day, but again my twins had no cribs. They dropped boxes wherever. Ones clearly labeled were just dropped in the garage. Multiple things arrived damaged. A T.V was cracked and two dressers arrived severely damaged. Multiple items were also missing, and a few times they brought in items that were not even mine since they had no idea whose stuff was whose on the truck, evidenced by my missing items. I was supposed to received $100 off for their late delivery l, which they are now trying to not give stating money is owed to them on their total they randomly added on drop off. The movers at both locations bad mouthed each other and one in SC stated this is typical of this company to add on as he stated the owner is extremely greedy and pockets the extra money he adds to nearly every move and none goes to the movers. Suffice to say when even your employees feel this way, this is a horrible company. Seemingly from other reviewers their positive reviews are due to threatening and asking people to remove negative reviews. UPDATE: I’ve now gotten texts asking me to remove my review with no kind of resolution even offered or any issues acknowledged. This company is a joke and a scam. They probably don’t care how stuff arrives since they only pay out $0.60 a pound for damaged or lost items, so there’s no incentive to not treat your belongings like trash.
From the start, Glass City movers proved to be a cut above. Nicole supplied me with invaluable information about the move and cautioned me about brokers. I didn’t ask if it was a family business, but that’s what it felt like because everyone was in sync. The move was plan, quoted and executed with precision. I was given an affordable estimate and an approximate time & date for the pick up and delivery. Even Delmard, the driver was A-1.He called me enroute to the previously scheduled pickup almost 2 hours in advance. Picked all items and called to make sure there wasn’t anything to be picked up that was left off. All of my moving items were wrapped and secured for the move. I received my items in great condition, just like they were sent. Nothing was damaged or broken, including an extremely heavy tri-oval mirror. You can’t go wrong putting Glass City movers in charge of your move. I’m extremely satisfied with the job they did for me.
