TL;DR The product and the salesperson were lovely, but the poor aftercare means I won’t be going back. I bought a beautiful gold necklace and earring set from a kind lady, though I didn’t catch her name. The purchase itself was great, but the after-sales service was disappointing. The necklace turned out to be too long, so my wife went back to have it shortened or adjusted. To our surprise, she was asked to pay an additional £60, even though I had already spent several hundred pounds on the set. When I called to clarify, I was told they don’t have a workshop on site, so customers must pay extra for any adjustments. That explanation didn’t make much sense. I hadn’t thought to ask about post-purchase service because I assumed a simple adjustment would be included. Apparently, that’s not the case, and customers are not told this beforehand. It’s hard to believe a large jewellery chain cannot handle such a basic request. To make things worse, the “alternative solution” offered was to buy another shorter gold chain so we could alternate between them. Quite the clever suggestion, and silly of me not to think of it myself!
Terrible service! The wife and I went in, done a deal on a brand new watch, £1500 worth so maybe not worth their time. Sold as new but it didn't work, only one they had in stock, display but sold as new, needed a battery. Store had to send for a new watch. No follow up call or email stating it's ready to collect. Chased a couple of times with calls no one knew anything about it. Given up now, taken our money elsewhere. Time wasted dealing with incompetence. Be aware unless your buying a Rolex of very high value you probably will get ignored. Don't recommend this branch. Go somewhere else with your hard earned cash!
SCAM DISCOUNT The prices here are not accurate compared to the tags on the jewelry. Yesterday, I took my wife to this store to look at some jewelry. There was a pair of earrings with an original price of £2000 and a clearly marked discounted price of £1200. My wife and I sat there for over an hour while she tried them on and thought about it. During that time, the staff repeatedly told us that this was a great deal because the price had been reduced to £1200. After more than an hour in the store, my wife finally decided to buy the earrings the ones marked down from £2000 to £1200. However, when the staff came back with a calculator, they suddenly said they were very sorry but the earrings were actually not on sale and the full price was £2000. In the end, I just want to say, if you come here during a sale, don’t immediately trust the discount tags. Double-check the prices carefully, because they might claim there was a “system error” and refuse to honor the discount. This is a big jewelry brand, but it clearly lacks honesty and respect for its customers. I spoke with the store manager, but all I received was an apology. We wasted more than an hour of our time, and my wife was very disappointed after the manager’s change of attitude. If you’re looking for a trustworthy place to buy jewelry, I would not recommend this store.
Excellent experience with Kate at Goldsmiths Bristol city centre. I went in a few weeks ago with my besties with an idea of what I was looking for and Kate was brilliant with her advice and guidance. She sourced the exact watch I had built with the aid of her expertise and I returned to collect it with my husband. On both visits we weren't rushed or pushed. I'm thrilled with a timepiece which will serve me hopefully for a long time. Can't recommend Kate highly enough. Brilliant customer service 👏 👍
