Doug is the type of business owner we search to support in "St Small". You will not find anyone more knowledgeable or more fair priced for framing or stretching canvas than Doug in the twin cities. He has become my go-to guy for floating frames and canvas stretching. He lives by the old school Customer Service principles. One time the canvas stretching came out slightly different than I expected [not his fault, we got our wires crossed when we were trying to communicate about the project] and without question he took the piece back and redid everything for free. I felt terrible about that, I wanted to pay him, but he won't even take my money. He stands by his product. He is such a kind and genuine business owner that cares for his customer. He has even re stretch canvases for me FOR FREE that were done by a competitor (in highland park, I'll just leave it at that) that charged 300% what Doug charges. I'm not trying to make this Review sound like it's all about his prices or freebies. I'm actually someone that will pay top dollar as long as the job is well done. Perfectionist here. I'm not looking for a deal. It just happens to be that Doug does the best job but also gives the best prices in the area. He's probably going to be retiring in the next few years, and it will be a loss for the city. Thank you, Doug, for all you have done for your St. Paul community over the years! You're what small business owners should strive to be like.
The best place in the Twin cities for all your framing needs! I've had Doug frame several pieces of the years. Always more than pleased with his work.
Very reasonable rates for top notch work! Our reframed antique watercolor looks so amazing!! We were worried about the fragile antique frame, but it seems like they made it more sturdy than before. So pleased. Can't recommend enough. There was a few week wait for it to be completed - they seem busy - but happy to wait 2-3 weeks for great work!!!
Una tiendita increíble. Excelente servicio al cliente y me encantan las jornadas de puertas abiertas que tienen varias veces al año. Es muy divertido conocer a los diferentes artistas... He comprado varias piezas en los últimos dos años y no podría amarlas más. Si necesitas enmarcar algo, ve a Grand Hill Gallery, te cuidarán muy bien.
¡Trabajar con Doug es siempre fantástico! He traído muchas piezas hermosas y personales a Doug para enmarcarlas, y la experiencia siempre es genial. A diferencia de en otras tiendas de enmarcar (a las que he ido muchas), Doug no te empuja a elegir ningún marco, paspartú o su visión; más bien te permite hablar sobre la pieza y tomar las muestras que quieras ver. Si no quieres un paspartú, no va a rodar los ojos ni a enfadarse. Quiere que el arte se vea mejor y sea de tu estilo. Además, el plazo de entrega es increíble. Finalmente, el trabajo es excepcional. Ahora solo hago el enmarcado en Grand Hill Gallery. ¡Es un placer entrar en esa bonita galería y ver la cara sonriente de Doug allí cada vez!
