I started off on an awkward foot because I had never been there before and I parked on the street and came in the front door,( They had to unlock it for me). Just so you know: there's a parking lot out back for customers and then you come in the back door. It was a charming place with both friendly customers and staff. Heather cut my hair and I love it!

I was a loyal client for years, but after my hairdresser, Rachel, shared negative views about the president, I offered my own positive opinion. Two weeks later, I received a text message saying I was permanently canceled as a customer. To lose a hairdresser over simply having a different political opinion is shocking, unprofessional and discriminatory.

I just moved to the area for school and was looking for a new stylist. I went to another shop before this and was not happy with my experience. I contacted Heather at Hairanoia and she got back with me quickly, and was even able to work me in two days before my scheduled appointment to fix my hair. She is a magician with clippers and a pair of scissors!! I am so happy with how my hair turned out and it was overall an incredibly positive experience. It's safe to say I have found my new stylist! I would also recommend this shop for LGBTQ+ clients-- it's an affirming and kind space :)

Michael was excellent. He is a kind and caring person who has been an expert at his work for a long time now. He sat down to ask me what I was looking for and actually listened to my needs (low maintenance, simple, etc). He was very comforting when washing my hair and then finished the cut (correcting issues from a previous cut) efficiently. However, I was lucky to also to be treated to stories of all the work he's done advocating for our local LGBTQ community over the decades through Friends of Dorothy, literally saving lives and helping others die with the dignity they deserved. Also, the salon is beautiful.

Hairanoia is amazing. Michael has been doing my naturally wavy hair since 2004. I consistently get compliments on my hair, and love the way it looks and feels. The other stylists are amazing too! Michael is an artist who not only really understands many different kinds of hair and processes, but also really works to get to know his clients to create a style that suits them. The salon is LGBTQ+ friendly, beautifully decorated, and very clean. Always a pleasure to spend time in, and always leave feeling and looking my best. 5 stars!
